Wheel Alignment?

Wheel Alignment?
Hey guys. I haven't done a wheel alignment since I bought the car in early 05.. the tires appear to be wearing evenly. I am putting on new ones in a couple days so I'll be able to tell better. But in general, does it even make sense to do a wheel alignment when you're hitting pot holes every day (damn you NJ!)? No mods have been done to the suspension.. wheels are stock.

When you install new wheels/tires and modify the suspension in any way, its better to have an alignment done. Hitting pot holes everyday could affect the geometry of the alignment. You will notice if the ride is going left or right when you let go of the steering wheel for a few seconds. It really depends on the driving conditions and habits.

you haven't checked the alignment since 2005
In the past I've always checked it at least once a year.
Beside, no alignment is ever perfect...unless...you find an "old-school" mechanic that knows what he's doing. I remember having an alignment done a few years ago by a "real" mechanic. He didn't even use the computerized system, lol. Best alignment so far

^I just got mine aligned when I got new tires, by a brand new shop with some rather sweet equipment. I went from tracking straight as an arrow, to pulling to the left now.
I've aligned my cars myself better before!
Thank god for lifetime alignments. Even though for something like that, you can take it right back.
But yeah, I get mine aligned every time I replace any suspension/steering parts, new tires, or if it ever starts tracking any certain direction. Usually every year to year and a half at most.
