wheel hop
while my car was stock besides my rims and gforce tires i could launch my car at 6k and barley spin at all. Now with the current mods in my sig besides the nitrous i cant launch my car at4-5k w/ mad wheel hop. Think this would be do to more power than before, and i need some wider tires? Also seems after my lightwieght flywheed it was harder to launch at 6k w/ out wheel spin. Now second part what are some suspension mods for the 8 i can buy right now to help stop wheel spin and help me get my 6k launches back?

yea well after i lowered it and put the rims and gforce kdw2's on it i could, now since ive been adding mods it seems not to work too good any more, so im going to upgrade to a 245-40-18 or 255-40-18 and was hoping theres some suspenstion mods out there to help w/ traction. traction bars, i heard the rear sway bar helped a little w/ wheel hop? can anyone confirm that?

When I was trying to burn up my stock tires before I got new ones, I noticed that the wheel hop is pretty bad when ur launching above 5K. Hated that. I couldnt tell if the suspension was being a problem or I just needed more torque. I still need more torque, but I noticed that the new performance tires are wider, and I haavent had hop. They spin when I go WOT, but no wheel hop so wider tires help. I have 255's on mine

a hint. the stock bars will wheel hop!
if you are running the pt sways in the rear at full stiff, well your set up is different than the whole world.
what shocks and springs are you running???
if you are stock.. well put the bar a the soft setting. and enjoy driving the car..
hint.
stock bar wheel hops. pt bar on full stiff, does the same..

get different tires.....and are your rears going bald.....my progress tech rear sway at full stiff and a set of azenis st 115 tires got rid of 95% of my wheel hop...i used to hate it, it slows a launch down terribly...now it pretty much never happens except sometimes in the rain...

My RX8 is compltely stock with g-force KDW 2 tires and I do not get wheel hop.
With the OEM Dunlops i would get a little bit of wheel hop on rougher road surfaces, but on smooth pavement I just got the "silent" wheel spin. (The tires were dried out when I bought the car, so they didn't make noise or leave any tire marks)
However, now with my new engine past the break in period, I did a couple launches today to test the WOT acceleration. The first launch was from 5500rpm and the wheels spun for a few feet and then got their grip with no wheel hop.
I then did a second launch at 6500rpm and my wheels just lit up and spun all the way through first gear leaving a big cloud of smoke and melting rubber behind me. I did not get even the slightest bit of wheel hop and this was on a rough road.
