Where does this part go

Recently had my car serviced because it was under warranty and what a bad move. Usually I do all my own stuff on the FD and the Rx-8 and the one time I didn't they do a bad job on my car.

Basically the passenger side DRL isn't working and they deduced that it must be the automatic level adjustment computer that wasn't working so they said they would change it.

Two weeks go by and I notice I am still having the same problem but find the part they "changed" in my glovebox:

Where does this go? I looked in the FSM but the available ones are far from the quality of the FD manuals so it isn't very clear.

How can a mechanic not figure out something as simple as disconnecting a connector ridiculous.

So frustrating.

From: Western Canada, eh?
Take it back and ask to speak with the Service Manager.

Show him the repair order;
Show him the part they left in your glovebox;
Tell him that the problem is the same now as when you brought it in.

Measure his response, and decide if you need to escalate this complaint to the Dealer Principal and Mazda.

By the way, this part goes behind the glovebox. Have a look and see what they did. There is NO REASON that they should've hacked up your wiring to repair. Take pictures.

So I should be able to access it directly?

I am going to go on Monday and start asking some questions. I don't have an order as I bought the car from a different make "stealership" Ford to be precise so they (Mazda) sent them the bill for the repair I do however have the one for the estimate/diagnosis.

Alright I'll take a look tomorrow. Taking out the glovebox when installing a PFC holder is def a 10 minute job just haven't started playing around with the 8 yet.

I still cannot believe the sheer incompetence required to do a job like that worst part is this mechanic was recommended to me and is the only mechanic at the dealership that does 8's.

With cut wiring seems weird.....

Is the related harness particularly elaborate?

Yeah, that doesn't make sense. Maybe it's a spare unit that they use for testing? Can't imagine a Mazda tech just cutting the wires since the rewiring would be much more time consuming than just snapping off/on a connector.
