As in the turn signal on the side of the car that people replace with clear corners. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Oh wow... you really want that? Isn't it illegal to drive around with neons on... if you wire it like that then wont that mean that neons will always stay on while you are driving?

Good luck with your project though. ^^

Count this as a request for two... I want the neons outside and inside to both come on when I turn on my headlights, but I don't know where I can wire into.

Red neon? Like that stupid-*** looking underbody glow crap?

Please don't do it. You'll run the risk of branding the rest of us just a bunch of ricers.

would that not increase the load on the side marker, possibly making it more dim when lit?

PS - im not that savvy when it comes to electronic wiring on cars, so this one of the things that popped into my head :D

i'd say you'd be better off just wiring it to its own switch so that if you do end up with problems from the police, you can still turn the neon off without having to turn your headlights off, which could make it difficult drive at night, not to mention illegal.

But if you DO.....

I would wire it from the trunk.

Splice into the wire to the rear running lights, it's the red/black wire, just move the carpet & liner.

Put a switch in the power line, so you can turn it off when the officer says so. Run the wires out of the rubber grommet above the muffler. Done.

KMG1186 - It wouln't be an issue. You'd actuall just run a hot lead from the marker to a relay (the relay would then draw power from the battery).

As everyone else has noted exterior neon is illegal when driving so you'd want a switch on the remote lead anyway.

Maybe you could wire it to the fog lights. At least you can turn it on/off from the factory switch.

Thank you guys for all your replies.

I finally decided not to do it. It is too much trouble. My next mod will be red strakes instead. I think it is way better .I have seen 3 on each side of a red RX8 and it looks amazing. They are just hard to get

Thanks again!
