Where is the RX-8 in Transformer????
Where is the RX-8 in Transformer???? I was all ready to point out the Mazda's Rx-8 cameo and the closest looking vehicle that should have been the 8 looked like the pontiac solotice to me.
What happen did Mazda miss a chance for some free advertisement again???
I know the 2008 camaro is going to sell like hot cakes? If the retro dodge Challenger don't beat it out. That Camaro was a sweet looking vehicle or auto-bot.
Sorry this is Rx-8 forum, Where was the RX-8???? Or am I late?

"Jazz (Meister in Japan) was released as a Binaltech/Alternators toy in 2004, with the new alternative form of a Mazda RX-8. He was released in both white and red colors, with fans referring to the red version as Zoom-Zoom (A reference to the jingle used in Mazda commercials).
Initially released in small numbers in 2004, Jazz was re-released in 2006 in new packaging. Due to Honda marketing a car model called Jazz, he was actually called Meister in the U.S. as well. (In Europe, the Honda Jazz is the Japanese Honda City, the model of fellow Autobot Skids. Currently, the Honda Jazz name re-badges the City's current successor, the Honda Fit.) As an inside joke, when Hasbro was describing their new Meister toy on their web site they stated "Incredible detail and 1:24 scale jazzes up the action!""

there was a rx-8 version of jazz so when you talk about the solstice (which was jazz in the movie) you're kinda in the right direction.. even though the solstice<<rx-8

None of the product placement you see in movies is "free" - it's all bought and sold just like my soul.

You mean GM went all them in the movie. I don't know what that means but you know what I'm saying.
Hooray for the big GM commercial! I liked it nevertheless. Just wish advanced alien technology wasn't restricted to one car company. How cool would a transforming DB9, SLR, M6 or Murcielago have been?

That was an interesting Pontiac Solstice shown in the movie, because you cannot actually buy a Solstice from the dealership that actually looks like that. Doesn't exist. They wish the real Solstice looked that good, but it looks like a little movie transforming was done on it.

the highway scene was seriously set up like an ad... a bunch of GMs lined up with music playing, showing them from different angles and such... I leaned over to my friend and said "talk about advertising...". I wouldnt doubt if the makers of the movie had a bidding for that spot.
Though I wish they had done it some way where they bid on different characters so there could have been more variety (and they still would have made their money)

and within a month Ford is probably going too start bragging
"we dropped 6 billion dollars of research onto our vehicles"
"we realize now that transformers are as impossible as a reliable American vehicle..."

actually american cars are surpassing japanese brand cars in reliability do some research before you make retarded comments like this 1.

Honestly the RX-8 would be the only Japanese car I would have wanted to see in Transformers... well maybe the new GT-R... the movie would have sucked if bumble bee was some yellow prius or if they made Optimus Prime a 4-banger rsx w/ tinted windows.
well good for GM, this movie solidifies their earnings against Toyota.

here ya go reliability charts from last year and the detroit auto makers keep improving every year making the gap between reliability smaller and smaller. this perception of foreign > domestic was true a few years ago but the big 3 realized this and decided to do something about it but the damage was done and its gonna take some time for them to build their rep back up.

The only truth in that statement is the wasted resources of Ford. But they are making a head-way in cleaning up this problem. Currently there are too many platforms being built at a loss. The new CEO is attempting to reduce it down to 3-4 platforms, hopefully the Ford Family will let him do it before they give him the Axe.

japanese cars wont be here yet. in the next tf, they will crash land in japan thats where they will adopt japanese cars and thats where u will see japanese tf. just a speculation
and besides, an rx8 transformer was designed way back in 2003. if u notice the robot design is of conventional robot simpler design, wheres the movie robots are of a new generation... very complicated. u cant visualize how it would transform into their vehicular modes.
as an old school TF fan, i prefer the conventional design robots, they just look too alienish now. the movie is still cool however it can never match the original TFTM

I did find that little piece of advertising funny.. The Decepticons have a Ford Mustang & it gets it a$$ kicked by a Chevy Camaro.. heh..

"Barricade" is the only car that the Decepticons have in the movie, and since they are evil I'm sure GM thought it would be funny to have that particular vehicle be a Ford. Now it was a pretty badass looking Mustang, but yes, it gets its *** handed to it by the 2008 Camaro concept vehicle. Somehow I doubt the production version of the Camaro is going to have 20" chrome rims and look quite like that one.
