White or Black?

You didn't test drive it yet? Uh-Oh.
Just one warning, in case you do: you will be hooked and spend the next weeks / months / years behind the wheel making stupid excuses for short runs to the mall etc. Mazda got many of us of RX-8 owners with that simple "well, why don't you just take a test drive" trick.
Don't do a test drive before you have proper reasons to buy the RX-8 in written form for your wife, parents and friends, because you will buy the car just for the fun, trust me.
Or as the Nazgul put it: Come with us!

my girlfriend, who is basically my wife, is very cool with this kind of stuff. she'll let me do whatever i want, as long as she doesn't have to pay for it. and luckily, i drive quite a bit, so instead of dreading those drives i might start to love them.

Just out of curiosity, are dealers charging more for the White 8's?
Back on topic... best thing to do is look at them in person (if at all possible). I wanted a Titanium Grey 8 when I was ready to buy... until I saw the GREEN in person.
Hopefully, when you go for your road test, they'll have a both colors on hand so you can get a close up. Although there are many fine pictures around, nothing is like seeing it in person (ask all us Nordic Green 8 owners)
Best of Luck.

i think with the white the all black interior would look best.
with the black, the black and red migh be nice.
then again, as stated above, i might change my mind completely once i see them. it wouldn't be a bad thing if i see the green and like it as welll, since there are a bunch of green 2004's left in the area.

Buy the Whitewater, it looks fantastic when it's clean. Take her to the mountians, do the twisties, and you have the best of both colors. She'll be white on top, and black on the sides (break dust), and back (soot) ,and you will have a smile in your face. I know, this is my routine every weekend! Wash with warm water, and you're ready to go.

just got back from the dealer. so as i said, i started this topic, whie or black?, but i really dig the green w/all black interior. they have a 2004 w/grand touring pkg and navigation. msrp is $33,100 and he is offering me a purchase price of $26,544. i am going to try to get them to add the rear spoiler for free, and then just called back and asked if the sirius radio can be added to the 2004. i really don't want the navigation, but this is such a good price, and there aren't many 2004's in a color i would buy left down here.
