i think there was a thread like this before..
had mine since Dec 03
24,500 miles
-replaced front right headlamp assy (projector beam housing inside rubbing against the clear lens...everyone should check theirs)
-replaced center console sliding cover...probably will again too....probably the worst thing on this car design-wise.
-replaced all OEM tires after 20k...replaced with S-03 Pole Positions
-tsb fix on brake squeeling..work and sound great now
-noticing SLIGHT looseness and rattles coming from interior items..(door..dash..etc.)
-the step plate (i don't know the nomenclature for it) on the bottom of the doors when you open them...is falling off and needs to be secured down better or replaced with a better one.
For the miles..i think it's pretty good! no flooding yet..hopefully never.. *Knocks on wood*
also..just installed the MS Front Strut tower bar...and wow..i actually didn't think i'd notice any diff.. i do! ...handles alot better.....that stock strut bar is a joke..and ugly as all sin.

10,300 miles, bought her mid april 2004. it has driver seat creeking, noises from the homelink rear view mirror, and some of the interior plastic trim makes noises when you push on them. There is also a random rattle in the driver side speaker area that annoys me. Seems to get around 16 mpg these days (got around 19 when I first got her), but I no longer baby the car when I drive it. i did the brake pad replacement due to the squeeling from the original set. Front headlights were replaced due to some dirt on the inside of the lens.
no other issues that i can think of right now.

Picked the car up July18, 2003. No major problems. Got a new sensor for the oil pan, no low oil lights since then. Got the amplifier for the A/C, and it helped a lot,. Got hte M flash and no problems, and the two recalls. Never flooded, but I have had rotaries since 1973. The biggest problem may be my wife liking to drive the car more and more, so I may be driving it less.

I've had mine since July 17 2003. Not many problems at all that were the car's fault, but plenty that were just a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
She's got 9900 miles on her now. She'd have more, but she's been undrivable for over six months of my 18 months of ownership.
- Sept. 03 -- Hit by a large chunk of road debris thrown up by a semi. Had to have hood and windshield replaced, and some bodywork done on passenger side rear wheelwell.
- Spring 2004 -- Rats entered my engine compartment while the car was garaged and gnawed holes in two coolant hoses. Couldn't start the car without coolant gushing everywhere. Couldn't get replacement parts from Mazda for several weeks.
- July 04 -- rear-ended on the freeway during rush hour. I was stopped; dolt in pickup truck was doing between 30-40 MPH when he slammed into me. $16,000+ and five months in the body shop later, I got her back on Christmas eve 2004.

Thinking about getting:

- Headlamps replaced under warranty

Bought my baby in Dec 2003. 12k miles on her. Runs great. No major problems. Only wish the tires for this car were'nt so expensive. Not that I burn 'em out or anything, just normal tire wear and traction is sucking now.

Drove mine off the lot on July 16th, 2003.
--Got the oil pan sensor done
--"M" reflash
--A/C amplifier installed
Other than that, smooth sailing for 27K miles. No flooding...haven't added but 1 qt of oil between oil changes (right after ai had only 3K miles on the odo).
Have to torque complaints as this baby just loves to pull and then pull some more to the 9K red-line. IT'll thrust me back into the seat whenever I get on it.
Still tight and rattle free (although the floor mats are starting to show a little wear). I get 18 MPG in the city and around 24 MPG in all highway after the "M" reflash.
All service and routine maintenance being done by the dealer AT NO CHARGE! Thank you Mazda!
Winning Blue and lovin' it.

End of May, 2004. The car is still flawless and runs like a champ. Not a single problem (knock on wood), just sweet motoring bliss.
There are some members from Japan (JSG, EASTMOON, and Yuhki) who were the very first to get their cars back in around April of 2003. I believe RX-Nut was one of the very first in the US, who got his on July 11, 2003.
