Why Did You Get The At?!!!

Dude, if you can't spell WANT, then you need to pick up a dictionary for a little bit. Seriously. Learn to spell a little better before you post, so people can understand you. It makes me not wont to read your posts.

We can get along, but as a teacher, it is very difficult to read this stuff. People are getting so lazy that they spell like they talk (which is too often sprinkled with incorrect contractions or worse...ebonics). Just take a second and formulate your thoughts and think before you peck...or as the other guy said "step away from the bong"...lol.

Parenthetical remarks (however relevant) are unnecessary.
Eliminate quotations. As Ralph Waldo Emerson said, "I hate quotations. Tell me what you know."
Eschew ampersands & abbreviations, etc.
Don't overuse periods......

Yea if the MT RX was putting out 300hp and the AT was putting out 280hp I would have went with the MT or the AT.
But its not. So what is the base line dyno of a stock MT RX-8? VS a stock AT RX-8?. What I mean is our car is still under 200hp AT or MT. No 1/4 mile car here. I think most would agree the RX was built for the track or the "touge" IMO.

Any mention the fact that least with the manual you get 6 speeds which with the high rev natural of this engine can help a lot in city driving vs the auto? Autos in city driving just feel so slow in the 8 and it isn't really related to the lack of HP but the different gear ratios.
Least coming years the auto will be a 6 speed which will make a bit tougher to choose from.

Oh yea, I mean all in all its an RX-8 and I love the car AT or MT. If I could do it all over I would get a MT. There's way too many after-market goods out for the MT vs the AT

I have an auto and have never regretted it. Have driven the MT and find it scintillating but got a nice package on a demo AT model which fulfils most of my needs. This car has plenty of power for the every day drive, and especially in neck to neck traffic, driving is a no-brainer. The handling is pretty much the same as the MT, but of course for those who like to race a little more and feel the need to justify a sports car is not a sports car unless it has MT, then there is just no sense arguing about it. I have toasted many a car on the road driving this auto, and I have to say much of it is due to driving skills- you can only accelerate so much on a downtown city road (traffic, road construction, busy intersections etc). No shame in getting an auto- that is the beauty of RX-8- it comes in two flavours. Of course I would be interested in the 06 model because playing with 6 gears even on an auto is much more advantageous. Will keep an eye out for the latest developments.
