A ridiculous comparison when you're splitting hairs over tenths of a second. None of the vs. threads involve 10-second cars or better. Such near performance in the straight-line means 'drivers race' and the driver/owner is assumed to be constant, not variable.
Yeah, always true, but the day I decided I would nurse my old Subaru along no further I started looking around at the other cars on the road - boring, ugly, and not-for-me is all I saw. Very few models on the market appealed to me. The RX-8 was leading the pack and a few test-drives proved it..... to me.
Maybe we should remember - we don't have to prove anything to owners of other cars or even each other.
* We already made our choice so vs. threads don't help us.
* Owners who race competitively tend to do their own real research and reading the ridiculous posturing in these vs. threads isn't research.
* Members here who are prospective buyers need test drives and their own first-hand experience more than they need anyone else's opinion.
* ...and the trolls.... well, I just keep hoping they'll get flushed.
That cover it for you Skiptomylue?

I think this is the most mature post I have seen in my tenure here. Bravo.

yeah, it covers it nicely, im happy with my car, my other car was faster.. it was also louder, shittier interior, less comfy, and you could feel every bump.. everything is an upgrade cept for the low end torque.but whatever, i have yet to get either of those cars to try and race me....... i seem to attract a lot of Sunfires and caviliers with nice big mufflers trying to race me all the time

then i ponder over to the Chevy website, and the honda Website.. and find out that both cars dont equal it at all.. in power... i mean.. looks. handling everything else is a given.. but the ss only has 200 hp and 200 lb.ft of torque. and the Si only has 197 hp, and what not.. so why does everyone comapre those kinda cars to the rx8? the way i look at it.. the rx8 is almsot putting to the wheels, what the civic SI makes at the engine... its better
my two cents

Let's start a RX-8 vs. Ford Model A thread, then we can build on it and slowly work our way from A to T...I think Bascho would be down for that...
Or perhaps a RX-8 vs. Yugo...
Or perhaps a RX-8 vs. Yugo...

Or say that the A is a better value for the money.
I am yet to see Ike say one positive thing about the 8, and I remember him saying that he liked them, but wouldn't get them or something.

The worst I've said, I think, was calling the STI a “stat toy for imbeciles”, which is obviously flame’n the drivers and not the car…I still think its funny. I picked on this because some of those owners are usually filling the RX8 vs. threads here, guys who have shown themselves to be obsessed with stats, particularly selective ones. This type cracks me up, who believe they calibrated their *** hairs so well that they can feel fractions of a second, or think they can actually drive any of the cars discussed here to their full potential, on a track or anywhere. LOL.
Unlike you, I'm not here to make friends or kiss *** playdumb, just calling it like I see it!
