well, i've seen winning blues, two of them, but never have i come across a phantom blue or a stormy blue in all my road trips. are they rare? factory not make as many blue ones? just not a desirable color?

i'm just curious. i think all the blues look very nice (:

 

I've seen one or two of them from where I'm from. They are sharp. RX-8 is a car that looks good in any color though. They really got that look thing down when they designed it.

 

i'm not sure but the stormy blue was discontinued..or was a special edition kinda thing? but those are quite rare.

 

They are rare, yes. I see one every once in a while. Such eye catching colors

The color only ran for 2 years, if I recall correctly. Since the 8 isn't a high-volume car, its rarity would be justifiable.

 

There are even rarer colors out there... Copper Red (my favorite), Cherry Red, and Lightning Yellow. I bet that you'll **** bricks when you see them.

 

Phantom Blue is a great color when you see it in person but, yes, was only available for 1&1/2 years. Stormy Blue, which is also no longer available, is nice, but maybe a bit too purple for my tastes, not as nice as the Strato Blue available in Europe. Aurora Blue is new for 2009 and is only available on the R3.

Phantom Blue is a weird colour...and not that popular among the Rx8.

On the other hand, Stormy Blue is a popular colour across the Mazda model. MX5 has it, CX-9 has it, hell even Mazda5 got it. Its not purple looking at all.

The Aurora Blue is similar to Electric Blue in the Mazda3 (Its not unique to R3 btw...Mazda3 has it). While looking good on the web, in person it doesnt really stands out that much...

I work in a Mazda dealership and I see these colours all day. Thats why I found it strange when you see Stormy Blue as "purple"...not purple to me at all. Its just a blue version of Velocity Red...

Phantom Blue is to die for.. oh how I wish I had an RX8 in Phantom blue..

I used to think that white was horrible on the RX8's.. so I never looked for them.. Now I see them all the time.. Maybe I should try that approach with Phantom blue..

Your picture of strato blue looks much more purplish than pictures I've seen of European 8s, but I've only seen it in pictures.

 

Sure whatever floats your boat...Stormy Blue is the nicest dark blue mazda ever has. Winning blue is the other great light blue ones.

Phantom Blue is just ... mixture of green and blue? j/k not dissing the colour ha

Anyway, white is always nice on Japanese sports car...its their national racing colour.

Phantom blue caught my eye in a bad way the first time i saw it. I vowed not to get it ... It looks like a weird turquoise that is too dark. mmm, no.

 

Copper Red is still the best color out there... I wish I had one...
