Window tint

Forgot to make a post on this until today... Here are a few shots of the tint job. :D

*EDIT* Tint is 17% all around. Easy to see out of, even at night (I always back down a long, unlit, gravel driveway and have no trouble). And hasn't yet caught any "unwanted" attention from the fuzz.

Now you see her...

Now you don't...

Also invisible from the front... :D (she's sitting in the driver's seat)

Looks great vectorwolf!
yeah I was concerned with night driving when I got 15% but, once it was installed I've had no problems.

I'm thinking about the 15% also, have you had problems with cops? I know some cities out here in Colorado do have tint meters to check when they pull you over.

Not to hijack vector's thread but....
In Florida 15% is legal except for the front side driver/passenger windows. I took a chance and went with 15% on those as well. I've had cops pull up right next to me at lights and not give it a second look. I can say that since I always have the interior sunroof shade open it tends to add a little more light inside the car,so sometimes it appears lighter if your looking at it from the outside. Plus the 15% does an excellent job on keeping the interior a little cooler in the hot Fl. sun. :D

Noooooo, not at all.

And tigger, that's a great strategy. :D I usually at least leave the plastic sunroof cover back so a little light comes in for just that reason. I figure if they can see me at all, they probably won't think twice about it.

I live in orlando and i too have 15% on all the windows (except windshield and sunroof) it looks just as dark and provides privacy even on sunny days, but is easy to see out of at night. never gotten any looks from the cops, and I was pulled over the other night (new law on stereo volume, if they can hear it from 25' away its too loud) anyway I got pulled over for listening to LOVE LINE on my stock bose system at 1130pm. when the cop came up to me i had my window down, but when he let me go (verbal warning) he said nice car, and I could see him checking the car out when we were at the next stop light side by side. so my guess is the cops around here dont care, or dont care enough to pull you over for it.

I got it done at a shop in lakemary,FL . he will do any tint you want 5%,10%,15%,20%,30%,45% for the rx8 he charged 110 bucks and it still has the lifetime warrenty. not bad.

It's definately a must have down here. I think with tint its just something they'll give you a hard time with if they pull you over for something else. Other than that it probably isn't even worth thier time. If you're pulled over for something else jsut have your window down by the time he gets there
