windsheild washer removal...why?

Hey guys. I had recently bought an 04 and went to fill all the fluids and notices there was no windshield washer fluid bottle. Instead there is what looks like a vacuum line off a manifold with a bolt stuck in the line. I was curious as if anyone has any clue as to the reason someone would have done that?

Could have been to make room for an oil tank for a Sohn OMP adapter or maybe an excessively large oil catch can...

Could have been a lot of things.

it was for a catch can that the previous owner took off.

You can:

1. Buy another catch can, cheap and easy to install
2. buy a new washer fluid bottle, cheap if you get one off a wreck or in the FS / Parts wanted section here
3. leave it as it is

If your windshield gets dirty all of a sudden when driving, just pray for rain...lol

I've almost never sprayed washer fluid, and if you get real grimmy mud, you better stop and carefully wash so as not to scratch windshield.

Solution is to Rain X when water quits beading, and you almost don't even need wipers much less washer fluid.

Yeah I am not too worried about a dirty windshield. Just was worried about the bolt shoved in the vaccum line. I looked up the sohm adapter and it is intriguing to say the least.

During the brief period of time I had my 8 to start with before removing the washer reservoir and replace with a SOHN one I never used windshield washer fluid regardless. I never did on any other vehicle I owned when bugs sprayed on the windshield since it in my experience always makes it worst.

The worst I've ever faced bug fest was driving about a month ago during the evening and they were out in full force. I just did what I usually do, once I stop for gas I use the wiper provided there and cleaned it up, is all I ever use outside of cleaning the windshield when washing the car myself.
