My bad guys, what I was referring to was the vibrating feel when I was holding my foot down. That was the anti-locking brakes in action. I don't know why I said pumping. :-/

I'll remember that now when my wife asks why I'm not doing anything.

... Oh, I thought I was moving because of the feeling I was having.

Jeez, you just don't get it. Many here are being nice when they suggest you're a danger to everyone, instead of simply calling you a jackass...I have no such problem. And I'm the first one that hates safety *****, but you're something else. Even if you are the SLOWEST driver on the road, you're still a danger to all those trying to get past you. Summer tires in winter months is an accident waiting to happen - it isn't skill that got you by that winter, it was luck.

And you buy a RX8 and can't afford winter tires...what's wrong with that picture?

understand that it is *possible* to get by a winter safely without them. Your risks of crashing into a tree are quite a bit higher, but there is still a fair chance that won't happen.
It's also possible to speed through red lights without hitting anybody, should you do it? Also you have a far bigger chance of crashing into people rather than trees, maybe you noticed there's far more of those pesky creatures on the roads?

I was pumping my brakes several seconds before I was able to actually slow down.
For such a carefull driver, too bad you don't understand that you don't "pump" brakes on an ABS equiped car.

Sounds like good logic. Why don't you go play some Russian Roulette. With most guns your odds of living are 5 out of 6...quite good odds!

The problem I have with this thread is that you are missing the point everyone is trying to make. As a result, if you ever do lose control...I hope there isn't a tree in your path...I hope it's your first born child. Then...MAYBE...you will understand just how STUPID your actions are!

I would much rather it be his kid than somebody else's. People like this shouldn't even be procreating anyway.
