Wish me luck...

Dropped off the little girl for the engine/emissions recall tonight. Hope she turns out OK.

My loaner is a damn Cobalt with no power anything!!! Manual doors and locks but an automatic tranmission!! Way to save a buck huh?

They put me in a tiny *** white neon. I was like woman, I cant fit into that. I am 6'4 225. So I upgraded to a V6 2006 Dodge Charger for a few bucks more.

When I took my 8 in for the recall my dealer gave me a ride to work and picked me up a couple of hours later, after the recall work was done. No complaints, but didn't get a loaner car either.

Your car will be fine. Most people notice idle is better, a little peppier and MPG that may increase or decrease.

Go abuse the crap out of the loaner as a sign of thank you.

I got a manumatic Mazda6 V6 as my loaner. Abused the heck out of that thing. I love how the manual mode doesn't shift for you when you hit redline.

I brought mine in yesterday and got a freakin' Towncar! I really do not like driving that car. It really wasn't that big of a deal thinking it was only for one day. Well today the service manager called me and after exchanging pleasentries, he said "well I hope you like your rental car".....yep...........my 8's getting a new engine. I guess thats a good thing.

In a Town Car you look like a private driver or a geriatric.

first 2 rentals i got for other recalss were neons. the first one was a base package AT, i drove home in 2'nd on the interstate. the bastard was doing the death rattle at just 35 mph before i even got on the interstate. the Second neon was an Sxt, it didn't have the death rattle at 35 mph but it handled like a piece of poo ("Ha Ha, he called the **** poo")

Last rental i got was the MVP, i wold have preffered something not so soccer-mom'ish but i wasn't going to complain it becuase i was happy it wasn't a neon.

Actually I was totally suprised that they're replacing the engine. I've had the car for 23 months and from what I could tell, it ran like a champ.

In the time I've had the car I brought it in for (1) fogged taillight, (at which time I believe they did a flash update) (2) for them to replace the drivers side sun visor (at which time I think they did another flash update) like I said iwas over a 2 year span

No new engine for me so just some new plugs and a flash. They still have the car they are looking into the starter TSB and a tranny problem (hopefully just a clutch).

Can't wait to get her back and give this GM deathtrap back to the rental company.

I got a Chevy Aveo, and it smelled like awful sweat! With those awful small skinny tires, it would just drift by itself in the rain on the streets! Feel my pain!

The dealership I use has their service dept in sales mode. They are making sure everyone drives the CX-7. When you go to drive it off, a service tech spends about 10 min. going over all the features like Navigation, voice commands, turbo, location of buttons and other neat features. They have sold several CX-7's just because of this and one guy refused to drive his 8 off the lot, he wanted the CX-7 he had as a loaner. It's a great sales promotion and I'm really suprised more dealers are not utilizing this technique. I told my service tech, if I purchased one, I would make sure she got the commission instead of some stupid salesman.

They gave me a Silverado. 4WD - off road version. The thing was enormous.

It made me want to haul something- so I went to Lowes and bought
several bags of mulch. It was fun for the day.
