wonder where u guys mount ur cellular telephones
Just got an iphone and am looking to place it somewhere in the car as i also purchased a small little fm transmitter that attaches to the bottom of the iphone in order to hear my music from my iphone to the car stereo speakers. Problem is i have no clue where to place the iphone. The ash tray is to small and makes the phone interfere with the shift ****.
Id like to know what mounting bracket people r using and where they locate it or any suggestions as to a preferable location for the ipod/iphone. Thanx in advance.

OOO OOO PICK ME PICK ME
I actually mounted mine on a sticky rubber pad between the hand brake area and below the shifter as shown in below picture. Also is a picture of said pad keeps your phone within reach and also when hitting the twisties extra hard it stays in place

First off, why is your reverse by 1. I want that...
Secondly, to the OP. I am actually designing an ashtray replacement that will have spring loaded arms that glide out smoothly and create a mount for a phone.
I won't have it done until summer, as I am a student and don't have time. But if I can make it work and look nice, I might do a group buy.
But until then I made a little box, out of wood and bondo then painted it black and used the hook side of velco and secured it just below the silver trim of the console and lined it with foam to cushion the phone and provide a stable place to hold it.
I'd take a picture... but I don't feel like doing it... hah

Not my car I can take pics of my actual setup tomorrow if you would like. Its even easy to tell if I'm getting a phone call at night, sense I blast my music so I can't hear my phone but the lighting up of my phone tells me I should turn down my music so I can hear my I love you song by Barney.

i toss mine in the glovebox since i have my ipod connector ran to there and bluetooth connects my phone to the head unit.
before i had that, i just either left it in my pocket or put it in the cup holder.

I have this nifty tire case for my phone and despite the protectant my phone does not slide so I put in right on the flat spot (no warmers) in front of the cup holders. It works perfect.
