Woo hoo (just brought it home)

2004 GT (with I think ever other option pretty much) 84mth/100k mile warrenty transfered to me and all this with only 400 miles on the car. It still smells new and has been garaged since purchased. So much fun to drive. I started looking in march and I'm glad that I waited.
Oh yeah, paid $21,000 for it.
Pics...

Since your telling me here I don't feel bad asking but what weight? They are sending me the owners manual when they find it.

What exhaust sounds good? The guy owns another 8 and he got the grady(?) exhaust and says its sounds fantastic.

Congrats . . . what was up the original owner's a$$? 400 miles in 3 years?

I hope you are prepared to wipe down the front of the car after each drive, because there will be tears of joy for a while!

You can download the manual from Mazda Owners Website if you need to do so.

Probably other places as well, but I like the owners site. It hasn't spammed me at all, so you might want to think about signing up. I actually keep all my maintainance records and mod records in there as sort of a back-up to the normal paper trail.

Well done. Congrats on the car.

Does your name mean what I think it should? By hbar do you mean Planck's constant / 2pi? Then the 314(159?). What I'm really asking is, are you a nerd?

Happy driving!

Yes, it means exactly what you think...I'm a nerd.
I have a BS in physics and thats a screen name that usually isn't taken so I can have the same name no matter what forum I'm on.

Every option?! Lies! Get a spoiler already!

And just like someone previously said, be ready to get a lot of oil and money for gas and drive it like you stole it!

Blue looks nice one these, I like the color.

400 miles though...can't beat that...I hope it has all the recalls done on it. Great warranty though

I must say overall, really really good deal!

It was purchased as a high school grad gift for the son. He didn't want to drive a manual so Its just been sitting in the garage since the. The uncle took it to the dealership a couple of times to get the new flashes but thats it. I'm really lucky to find a deal like this.

I do have an engine light now for some reason though. Guess I'll go get a reader and figure it out.

Not to be a downer, but be ready to see that CEL a lot with an 04...Atleast you have the MT though, with AT's is like a daily ritual to see one

I set my clocks by mine.

The first few months mine was fine, then all of a sudden bing bang bam. I had one every week or so, I've taken my car in 4 times. It's been a few days since I've last taken it in and it's running even better than when I first got it so I think I'm fine now.

Just letting you know ahead of time, be prepared to take it in. I'm not saying you'll have the same problem as me, but the 04 models did have quirks and bugs just like any other first year production car, since you have an MT though it will greatly reduce the amount of problems you have, from word of mouth on the forums and personal experience it seems the 04 AT's had it far far worse.

But hey, like I said, I've taken mine in a few times to have a recall done, and then just because it wasn't driving and everytime I take it in I still couldn't imagine parting with the car, it's just simply brilliant (black)!

As long as you redline the car daily and smack it around a bit while you drive it, you should be fine. Don't baby it though, these cars like to be spanked..........a lot.

Congrats!

break the engine in properly and then give it at least a redline a day. For an 04, i'm hoping it doesn't have too much carbon built up in it yet!

Looks nice, and welcome to the board!

You might see when the last time the oil was changed. It should be changed every 4-6 months even if it's not driven much. You have a lot of Fun in store....

400 miles in 4 years?

thats crazy, be prepared for hoses cracking from disuse and such. cars need to be driven to be kept in good shape. just having cars sit isnt too good for the car. that said..

congrats on getting a really awesome car.

My car has a twin... Mine is exactly like that one!!

Don't get a spoiler... I like the clean lines of the car without one.

One thing I do have is the clear bra in front, which will help protect the paint in the front.

I hope you enjoy yours as I like I am...

Enjoying even more with my new intake..

Good Luck

Welcome to the club.
