Dont let people scare you with these warning. I would say dont be surprised or too worried if a CEL pops up. it could be many things, minor or major. Just take it in and they should fix it. I have an 04 that I got used and only once has my CEL popped up (about 2 months after I got it) and it was only an emissions leak that they fixed rather quickly. congrats on the new car, enjoy!

Don't get a spoiler... I like the clean lines of the car without one.

One thing I do have is the clear bra in front, which will help protect the paint in the front.

I hope you enjoy yours as I like I am...

Enjoying even more with my new intake..

Good Luck

dude, your cel pop up is probably your gas cap!!!! with 400 miles, thats prob it. Mine has come on 4 times since Ive owned it and 3 of them were my gas cap not being screwed on properly. My 04 has had many problems but I bought it from an auction and it was abused before me, and Im not the most gentle driver either, so dont be discouraged. Follow your owners manual and enjoy your car, and enjoy that you got one crazy deal on it!!!!!!!! I paid 19K for mine a year ago and it had 20K miles and it doesnt have nav, disc changer. Congrats!!!

Renesis07 I think your right. I went and got an obdII reader from autozone and it showed a P0045 which is an evaporative emissions leak which can easily be the gas cap. Cleared the code and everything has been fine since.

I thought I wanted a spoiler at first but now I really like the lower lines with out it.

Put about 300 miles on it this weekend and its been fun.

Welcome to the club.

Where did you get the clear bra? I've seen them while I've been lurking the forum the last three months and since the paint on this one is in good shape I might as well get the clear bra done. About how much should I expect to pay for it?

My clear bra already came installed on the car. It was the demo car for it..

The dealer uses a contractor to put them on... I knew a guy at the dealer and he gave me the number of the company that did it.. Then I went to them directly.

So ask the dealer who does it and call them directly yourself.

It will cost around 400-500 for front bumper head lights and side mirrors. That is what I have on mine.

Price has come down considerably though in the past 3 years.

I have had it on my car for over 2 years and I do a lot of highway driving... Defeniately worth it.

Congrats Hbar! Hellova deal! I love that winning blue too. I just bought mine 2 months ago (I have been eagerly waiting to get one for 3 years) and the only colors I wanted were either Velocity Red (which I ended up with) or the Winning Blue. I love that appearance package too (aero flares, front air dam). I'm looking to hook mine up with that too. I happen to like the factory rear spoiler.

First mod though should DEFINITELY be clear corners and stealth bulbs. Will cost you less than $90 and makes the entire car look so much better. That amber clashes too much.

Congrats and welcome to Zoom-Zoom! Oh, and don't forget to follow the Racing Beat guidelines for break-in. Once you've done that, rev it A LOT. The rotary needs to be revved to stay healthy (do a search, you'll see what I mean).

Enjoy!!!!!!!

I do have an engine light now for some reason though. Guess I'll go get a reader and figure it out.
Turning down a cool car like that as a graduation gift is Crazy!! I would learn to like a manual like immediately. The kid sounds just a tad on the spoiled side.

In any case, nice car and awesome deal!

I was thinking the same thing. Sad part is the dad probably bought him some AT car after the kid complained. I would have said tough ****, take it or leave it, but you are not selling it and you are not getting a different car.

Yes, but would you have punched him in the face and eaten him? Wait... thread crossing.

It does sound a bit spoiled (or maybe the kid was just completely uninterested in learning to drive MT) but it gave the OP a great deal so its a good thing.
