Well I finally did it. On Oct 16th I bought my 2005 RX-8(brilliant black cc w/gold accents). and I couldn't be more happier with my decision. From everthing from styling to handling to overall performance. I get" wood" sometimes just talking about it. I started reading threads on RX-8 Club about a year ago and at some points I started to have my doubts but once I got inside and took it for a drive-I WAS IN LOVE! So far I haven't experienced any of the issues discussed, but as an avid RX-8 fan I'll be sure to stay informed. I must say that many of you guys in here helped out immensly with technical questions and by answering some of my concerns. MUCH THANKS TO ALL!

The Mazda emblems on the front and rear have a faux gold plating on them. the center Mazda emblem on the center of the rims are gold also. The dealer added an additional $500.00 to the price of the car,but I was able to negotiate it as freebie. I'll have pics soon! The brilliant black clearcoat and the gold look awesome together. I live in Orlando and haven't seen another one like it yet.

I didn't even know that was an option. That must be new for the 05.

 

It's probably dealer-aftermarket added.. as it isnt in the list of accessories for the 05. Get us some pictures :D

I saw the gold accent option on some 04's about a year ago at Seacoast Mazda in NH. It was on the black also.

 

I've had my car since July and I still get "wood" over it.....but then again, I have been married for 8 years. :D

 

I think "RX8 Envy" is appropriate in here somewhere! :D
