World record for slowest starter speed?
Sat for about a week, been doing weekly warmups due to the massive snow, and while i'm saving up for my rebuild *car is still drivable* I went to do a hot-start to see how it was doing.. battery is about 2 years old, with LS coils, and there was plenty of oil and coolant.
I am planning on replacing the starter and the coils later on, just figured I'd share this with you guys because I think this was the slowest cranking speed I've seen.
I also expect to be told that the RPM gauge is faulty, but I don't think that's the case.
Whats your guy's record of slowest starter?
All jokes.
I will also document my next rebuild this summer with Rotary Ressurection.

Starter sounds like it's spinning fast enough to me. I've certainly heard mine spin much slower on a dying battery and still fire up. Sounds flooded...
Weekly warm ups ... Not sure if that might have done it if you are just starting and turning off without driving. Maybe trying to test your warm start didn't let it warm up enough first?

It looks and sounds fine. The rpm scale is weird around the bottom, the first mark is 500. Being a bit off there is the least of its problems, it's off by 500rpm by the time you get to 8500.
Weekly warmups? That sounds like a good way to carbon everything up. If you're not using it, let it sit, just put thr battery on a maintainer.

kops, I did let it warm up to optimal temperature, and I'm almost 100% sure its a compression issue due to the hot-starts. I would assume maybe its a battery if anything, flashes twice when starting, I did the same thing last week and it started up with no issue.
Loki, Thank you for that information. I was only worried about the chamber getting clogged up somehow which was the reason being for the warm-ups. The battery seems to be on its way out as it seems, Flashes twice when starting. I should also note I kinda live in a place where humidity is very common. I do premix, dont know if that contributes to the weird start-ups as it is injected with the fuel.. but who knows. I premix half an oz per gallon. Maybe the previous clogged sounds are because the motor needs rebuilt... lol. I've already checked inside the chamber for coolant and oil and I don't lose coolant.. that i'm aware of.
Will take your advice in the future, thank you!

If you've been premixing with the stock catalytic converter that could also be an issue. Premix can cause the cat to clog which can cause all kinds of serious issues.
You can remove the cat and inspect it with a flashlight. I don't have any pics of a clogged cat but could be something to investigate
