Despite the fact that this thread seems to have gone way off track, I'm going to offer up my Tiburon experience: I got a chance to drive a friend's friend's top of the line V6 Tibby, which had nearly all the options aside from a few frivolous bits.
Well...in short, it was honestly probably the worst "sporty" car I've ever driven, and almost the worst car period, but I have driven a Kia Spectra, and that thing completely dominates the "shitty newish car" category. Anyway, this Tib accelerated like a dump truck, the beltline was way high (though it could just be that I'm short), and the thing handled like it weighed 6000 lbs.
Since I don't really care to get into details, I'll put it this way - it's the only car that has EVER taken me more than 2 swings to line up straight in a parking space, and I've owned and/or driven LOTS of cars in my day. It took me FOUR swings - the handling was so dead that the steering inputs never seemed to match what the car was doing, plus the turning radius was approximately even with the circumference of the moon.
God, I hope that car was messed up somehow, otherwise I feel bad for all the Tiburon owners around the world.

Yes, it is isn't it. Whatcha gettin' at? Am I gonna have to send Biff, Larkin and Thad after you? You won't be able to miss them. They're driving a 3 Series BMW Convertible and they'll be wearing pastel Izod sweaters tied around their necks and Polo Chinos....
Sorry to Hijack the thread. I' done now, you can have it back

If the tuning bug hit you back then, I am sure that you have failed to learn from your mistakes (as we all do) and WILL succumb right back into the same old habits. Then you shall proceed to blow all your time and money into boosting the hell outta the RX.

I would advise you test drive the car and be sure you understand what you are purchasing...

I cant physically bring myself to drive or ride in any other car ever...I don't know why, but I simply cant...

Look at my Sig, I know what I'm getting into. I have NO plans to boost the 8(I have a boosted 7). It's going to be the daily grind/occasional Autoxer. I have lots of experience with wankels, and I know enough that I will leave this one alone aside from a few bolt-ons. I'm not buying an 8 to be a show car, drag car, track car etc. It's gonna carry me to work and on road trips, that's about it.
I have lost all control now...but at least I have warned you in advance...
It ends up owning you...beware...

They just traded the Jag in for a new DB9
As you can see, I'd rather own a few "nice" cars than one stupid expensive one. Williamsburgers are a funny breed, nowhere else(outside of Miami and LA) are people so consumed by appearances, screw that, I live for me, not thy neighbor.

If you end up buying it...I will wait for the day you realize that the car owns you...and it starts to command you to buy things...it orders you to give it more power in any way you can...
