Is it worth it trying to get money back? (Rental issue)
Alright so here it goes...
I turned my car in awhile back to get some work done they had the car for 8 days or so. I usualy opt for the rental insurance which is 17.99 and as the rental guy says "Its a one time fee.", I figure there are alot of morons in the world and I dont feel like dealing with the rental guys if anything happens yanno. Well this time around I noticed sumthing. Instead of a one time charge on my account of 17.99 I had a $143.92 withdrawl from Enterprise.
I was perplex and annoyed so I went down there and talked to the Ast.Manager. He looked my name up and was kinda surprised with how many enteries I've had. I believe his words were "Um whoah you um have alot here hold on." took him awhile to track down the right one and he printed it up. I looked it over and realized what the charge was for, it was 17.99 x 8! I sighed and asked the Ast.Manager if I was reading it correctly, he said yes. I told him I'd make a fuss but I know its not their fault but I did tell him he might wanna tell his reps that goto Mazda to make sure they understand the 17.99 is per day not a one time fee like I thought it was.
So here is my major annoyance after my dealer realized they'd have my car longer than they thought they said I can keep the rental after I asked "Do you want me to bring the rental in so you can give me one of your loaners?". I had the car for a extra 3 days, should I attempt to have the dealership to reimburse me some of this money since technicaly I should of been put in a loaner after X amount of days (I think its either 4 or 5 days).
Thoughts guys and gals?

^Nah never upgradded. Just annoyed I asked about returning it and he said not to worry. Guess I'll be going back tomorrow UGH.. hate going to this dealership once a month

Yes - go back and take a shot at demanding that they cover everything.
FWIW, if you own a car and have collision and comprehensive insurance, there is absolutely no reason to take out any of the extra coverages on a rental. Within some reasonable limits, your insurance covers whatever you drive. Most credit cards will even cover your deductable. The extra coverages are a major racket.

Same exact thing happened to me with Enterprise. I was in for work at the dealer (to fix damage they had done to my car). The Enterprise agent pretty much forced the insurance upon me ("If anything happens to the car, we take your deductible even if its not your fault and you have police reports showing otherwise) and made it seem like it was a one-time fee. When I got my 3-day bill for $70-some, I immediately called back and complained. I told them I was coerced into getting it, and I believed it was one-time. The reversed the charge and only charged me for one day.
So, it worked for me...give it a shot.

There is a magic phrase that does cut the coercion off. If the rental agent does not back off, say that if you take the coverage the car will be coming back on a flatbed.

your beef should be with the rental agency not Mazda. Rental was free, it was extra insurance that costs. You agreed to it. You pay. if they misrepresented what the cost was you should complain to Enterprise.
Rental insurance is not needed if you have adequate insurance on your cars. Sometimes even covered if you pay with certian credit cards.

Well went to Mazda they pretty much said ".. 'eh to bad talk to their manager he's there now." I then told him about how when I had the rental about bringing it back for one of their loaners, again his responce was "..'eh so....?". Thats my main annoyance with this that I asked about returning the car and he told me "Dont worry about it buddy its all taken care of.".
Talked to the Manager at Enterprise and he kinda said there isnt much he can do, since I've rented from them so much (his eyes kinda went wide seeing how many rentals I've had on his screen was kinda sad really.). I sighed knowing it would be a dead end and all I'd end up doing is getting arrest for slugging the entire staff, I told him "Well you might really want to tell your staff then to stress the fact that this charge is PER DAY not a one time fee like it has been told to me in the past.", he pointed out to me "Well you've been charged $30.00 in the past." which I quickly said "yeah because $30.00 doesnt stand out as much as $143.00.". At this point he seemed to dawn on something and said he will call up his accounting dept since they hold onto their countracts. He went on to tell me if on the contract it doesnt say "17.88/day" then the can contest the charge for me and get my money back.
Overall I learned my lesson **** the insurance and use my own. I'd say something else but aparently someone from the service dept I go to is now looking at this board so I'm kinda being watched!
