Would U Buy it Again?
Knowing all you know now about the 8. Both the good things and the bad things about it. Would you still buy the 8 again?
As much as I like my 8 I would have to say no. It just has too many flaws and at times is unreliable. This of course is just my opinion though. I will prob be getting an STi in a couple years after I see how there new designs are coming and stick with subaru this time.

No question, everytime I look at my car, I just think how beautiful it is. I was so damn close to buying a G35 coupe, and backed out at the last second, cause I wanted the 8. Not a day goes by do I think how glad I am that I got the 8 instead.

Honestly, as the car is now, I would have to say no. I love my 8 to death for what it is, but I would like more torque (not necessarily HP), better throttle response, and a little better MPG. If I had to do it all over again, I probably would have bought a Z instead. I hope the MazdaSpeed 8 comes soon and if these issues are addressed and the price is reasonable, I'm sure I'll be driving one.

Absolutely buy again. Only regret is that I didn't get the 6-disc changer.
I hope they keep making them and increase the hp some, so I can look at them when it's trade-in time.

There are just so many little things I love about this car. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat. My car has performed flawlessly and continues to inspire every time I drive. Sure, I'd love it if I could put water in my gas tank and it ran 500 mpg... I did my homework... knew all the details... continue to reap the joys of my investment and will for many years to come!

I'd have to say no as well. I am speaking in it's current form though, with the cars current situation. Naturally I'd expect this car to be a boatload better in a few years, with more power. I'd also like to see it ranked high in reliability by consumer reports, and the demand be higher for future trade in. Considering I am not a guy who buys a car and keeps it 10 years, the massive drop in value definitely would make me not buy again, unless the RX8 demands meet or exceed supply, and I know I don't lose as much money come trade in time. Now if they make a MS convertible, I'd consider one as a 100% fun car that would only see nice weather, and get minimal use.

I would seriously think about it. I mean, I want more torque and peak power and less visits to the dealer. Yet, I would NOT consider the 350z, G35, S2000, Evo8 or STI either. What I really want is a 4 seater Corvette! But, if I lost my 8, I would consider buying another one if it's used and/or discounted. Also, on the horizon is the new Lexus IS and BWM 3 series, so I'd look at those too.
I would definately consider a new FI Mazdaspeed RX8 :D .

I have absolutely no regrets buying the RX-8.
She still excites me every time I see her, and drive her.
Now if I had 20 more grand to spend, the C06 Vette would be looking real good right now...

All you guys are a pretty tough crowd to please. Did you all vote in the satisfaction poll? It seems like most voted that they were satisfied or extremely satisfied.

Like I said, I love this car for what it is. Look at it this way. This is a brand new model that just came out. For a first shot at it, Mazda did a hell of a job. For '05, most of the initial year bugs should be worked out, and in the next few years, some of the more major issues/complaints can be worked on (MPG, torque, HP) to bring us an even better 8. I know the "being patient" part sucks, but we all know good things come to those who wait. Just think how you'll feel when those MazdaSpeed 8's start rolling out.

Obsessed? nah. Just a little pissed off that my option to dish out RX8 when I feel the need is temporarily hampered. I see you are obsessed with defending this car, and can't handle when people criticize the RX8. When researching a new car, this was one of it's STRONG points, and for people like me who keep cars for a maximum of 3-4 years, it's part of the decision making when buying a car. Wake up and smell the coffee brotha. Not everyone is gonna buy this car again, and satisfaction is not enough to say you'd buy again. I dont' want to see flaming to those who will consider a different car in future. The next best thing is on it's way, so even those who say they'd buy again in a heartbeat, are only speaking for this moment, and cannot speak for the future. I tell ya what. Build me a 300hp 300 feet of torque AWD RX8, and I'm in heaven baby.

I really enjoy the rotary engine, so I guess for that reason alone I am not only satisfied, but would purchase again today if that was the scenario...

i would not buy the rx8 again just because i would like to experience lots of different types of cars :D but i love my rx8 to death but if i were to get into an accident and it was totalled... i would probably choose a different car just to have a different car

YES, and I did 9 months later. Even bought the same color. The only thing I did different was to get a 05 instead of a 04 and the GT instead of the Sport Package. I love the heated leather seats and the sunroof. I researched for 4 months and purchased the 8... I never hesitated or questioned getting another one.

Sorry, but
No. I love it to death, but the gas mileage issue really kills me - 12 is not 18, you know? Neat car, somewhat quirky. I think I'm going to get killed on the trade in when I sell it for something else. If it got totaled tomorrow, and I got paid cash, would go for something a bit more traditional.
