Yes sir, I would think twice about getting one. It would have been cheaper to keep the Eclispe upgrade the chip suspension and brakes. Plus it would have been paid off by now.

So for economical reasons I would think twice. Would I still buy the 8? Don't know.

Do I regret buying it? NO

I bought my 8 in Jan. of this year. I researched for 2 months before actually buying. I knew the gas would be bad, new it was slow 0-60, well not slow but not a stop light king. I bought it for the looks and the uniqueness of it. Don't see to many of them on the road. I like to be different. I must say though with 14K on it I have had no issues (knocks on wood). So far so good. I love the damn car it makes me cry to even think about losing her Life would not be the same

i am on my second rx8 now so yes i would definitly get another. i had an 04 auto and absolutely loved it but i wanted to upgrade and the value was going to pretty quickly to. so i was torn between another 8 or the lotus elise. the elise is an amazing car but it just seemed to not suit my needs(only two seater and no trunk). but my love for the 8 prevailed and i wound up getting an 06 MT shinka about two weeks ago. im so happy that i got another 8 and i will probably keep this one for a very long time.

I'd definitely have to buy a new one. I love my car so much that, today, I actually bought my phone so that it matched my car, since that's where I use it most anyway. (Don't worry, I promise I'm one of the rare, "GOOD" cell phone using drivers. Even my dad says so.)

I'd probably get the Navigation system or a Shinka next time around...but otherwise yes. I would get another one no doubt. Same color and everything.

I actually would have gotten an M3 instead of the 8 if I could have afforded it. But the fact that I could get a brand new 8 cheaper than a 3 year old M3 was the clincher. Next year I could probably afford a little more so would probably go with a 04 M3. I’m hoping 335i prices drive them down. Another possibility is I would go with two cars like a used A4 as a daily driver (AWD and All seasons) and a Z4, Boxster S or 350z Vert as the fun car. I’m starting to get the convertible bug so I think my next car might have to be a convertible.

Well, even with all the problems I have been experiencing over the last few weeks, I still wouldn't get rid of my car. I love it.

Nope. What does it for me is UNIQUENESS. All the other stuff is just extra toppings (interior, sexiness, etc.). However, I hope Mazda gets off its butt and do some fine tuning because Toyota is coming around the corner with the Supra V6 @30K and weighing roughly 3100 lbs..they want in..and will compete with the 350Z and RX8..

The recalls, mpg, oil consumption, etc do not bother me one bit. That said, opposed to purchasing the 8 new I would have purchased a pre-owned s2k w/about 10k mi. The back seats of the 8 are great but I have come to realize that, though I do carry a friend or 2 in the back a couple times a week, it is not a dire necessaty.

So many times I just wish to have that 2 seat roadster feeling. I can't necessarily say how much I love the 8 for its uniqueness because 2 autos live in the same city as me, both driven by mothers who have a "cool" car. :/

Regardless, I love the 8 and always will. It just happened to have 2 too many seats/doors at a time I didn't need them!

I bought the 8 because it won my personal "best all 'round 4 seater" comparo. But if it was today (rather than 15 months ago), I'd seriously consider the 335i coupe instead. But I betcha it'll feel less nimble and involving to drive, but what a car!

Otherwise, even after the recalls and 3 new lights and a new tranny on order , I still look forward to driving if every day! No rattles, engine feels even better than new, handling is perfect, etc.

The only thing I'd change my mind is getting a black gt that was 2 grand more but had a lot less miles and was a notch up then my blue touring. Yeah I don't like forking over a lot more money for gas then my past vehicles but this thing is a sportscar. It also has a history that makes me proud when ever I get in the car. I might consider later on in my life to buy a RX7 along with keeping the RX8, I'm inlove with these rotaries.

My 2003 Velocity Red RX8, which I bought brand new has just run out of factory warranty after 3 years.

I have sold it and am picking up my replacement car next week. A Stormy Blue rx8.

So ... no : I wouldn't get rid of it.

Black GT, bought in december 04, 54,000 miles. I had all the problems people complain about. Poor gas mileage, rattling, flooding, rough start, struggling to beat minivans off the line, etc. etc. But I would do it again in a second. My first car was a 1988 rx7. It also had many of these problems. People who dont like this car obviously dont have a clear understanding of why this car was built and the type of people it was built for.

It would be a close call. With the horrible gas mileage and poor Mazda service it really takes a lot of the fun out of the car. I guess I would look at one again but I would have to test drive it for a day to confirm it is not another defective gas eater like I have now.

If Mazda would just take care of this car this would be a much easier call to make.
