Would you be happier if the RX-8 had more power?

Man this is the rhetorical question of rhetorical questions.
OF COURSE it would be better with more power. That's the stupidiest damn question I've ever heard!
That's like asking "if Jennifer Lopez had a nicer ***, would she be hotter?" Well, let's see now, she's already got the nicest *** on the planet, yet if it were nicer ...
Anyone ever see "This is Spinal Tap"?
This is the RX-8 board question equivalent of "These go to 11" "Well, why not just make '10" one louder?" "These go to 11".

Those cars can pass me anytime they want. This car has plenty of power for me and the appearance and handling I wouldn't trade for something that is faster. Not into racing though. Would rather have a car with plenty of power, check, looks awesome, check and handles beautifully, check.

Took her through some twisties late last night. So much fun, even with only 159 lbft.
Straight line speed is good for overtaking and the 8 has adequate power for that.
The fun is in the bends!

Power is great, and it makes a good conversation regarding bragging rights, but it's not everything. I'm glad I bought such a fantastic car, and the community that is built around the RX-8 is wonderful. I couldn't ask for anything short of perfection.

Hey all...
It's NOT all about horsepower.............
I've owned a couple of horsepower monsters in the past!! However, the 8 for me win's hands down in styling, stability, handling, comfort, uniqueness etc... the list goes on and on. To date this is without a doubt the most fun car I've owned.
I have never owned a car that I forces me to walk down stairs to the garage every night before bed to admire her!! Am I the only one????? I hope my medical insurance covers this condition?

I love everything about the car....but I have been acquiring hp adders to the car so I must want more hp. In all honesty, this chassis can handle more hp. If it had come with the 247/250 hp in was originally supposed to come with I would be happier. A nice SC'ed 300-310 hp would be very nice.

I think that everyone can agree that we all would have appreciated more power. But I don't find the car lacking with the power it has. There is plenty of power to get around the slowpokes on the two lane highway. I'm with the folks that say that the fun is in the curves. This car handles like a dream. I don't regret my decision to buy this car at any time.

Since my self worth isn't determined by 'smoking' random people on the road or in how much power my car has, I don't care one way or the other. Also I doubt my driving skills are good enough to even really take advantage of the power I do have, so having more would just make me run out of talent faster.

More power would be great. But then again, look at the M5. The first generation made 400hp, and still some people felt it needed more. So soon, the redesigned M5 will come out, supposedly with 500hp. And then there will still be some people who think they need more.
And at least in my case, my happiness doesn't depend on the hp of the car I drive. I doubt it would make be feel better knowing that I could accelerate faster if there was ever an open road. Yeah, with 50 extra hp I could take that onramp a bit faster, if there wasn't bumper-to-bumper traffic at its end.
It's fun pulling it hard through the curves and seeing the guy behind you slow down
