Wow, I can't believe how good this car is!

lol, I clicked on this link thinking it was some newbie who just bought the car. Then I check the name......
I guess it's good to say how much you love the rx8, even if you've said it 1000 times before on this site

I opened the main page the other day and all I could see was thread after thread of stuff like "My RX8 almost killed me" for what's really a special, wonderful car. Guess I couldn't resist.

Its a great car so far, except for some issues which will hopefully be resolved. But its all worth the driving experience. BTW if they could also make the trunk opening a little larger for access would have been nice, I have trouble fitting my r/c cars in the trunk. But its been great.

Loved every minute of mine and the new owner e-mail me almost daily about how much he likes it. Sadly, I had to sell so I could get a lower payment and start putting more money back. There will be other times.

I have exactly the same impression of the car. I bought it thinking that it would handle like a skateboard, but be otherwise a very tinny Japanese car, and instead, I got a fabulous handling car that is also a wonderfully quiet on the highway. The steering was also far more communicative than I would have thought possible. I too have had no trouble with it, even though it is a pre-ordered 2004 lightning yellow.
I also love that list of cars you've owned New Yorker. A SAAB 96 is definitely going back a ways. My aunt had a 99, which I think was the best car SAAB ever built, and the X 1/9 was a bundle of fun. Light weight and mid-engined. Got to love that.
I have had a 1967 Alfa Romeo Duetto, a 1972 Mercedes Benz 280SE4.5, a 1978 Volvo station wagon, a 1982 Toyota Tercel, a 1988 VW Jetta GLI, a 1993 Nissan Maxima SE, and the 2004 RX8 6 Speed. All good cars in their own ways with the exception of the Toyota, which was a flipping piece of junk. (They were not all owned in that order, and I still have the Alfa and the Merz).
The RX8 does more things well than any other car that I have ever owned. It will carry four people or kids or large stuff, and then you can take it out and thrash it around handily. It is a very versatile, wonderful driving machine, and as for reliability, it is less reliable than the Maxima, which was bullet proof, Volvo, Mercedes, but more reliable than the Toyota, VW, Alfa, which puts it firmly in the middle. Not all bad for a not too expensive sports car IMHO.

My 8's in a semi-winter hibernation. But yesterday was a nice day and I scheduled to drive it out for work. The last few days leading to yesterday was filled with anticipation to the point that the night before I had a dream of me driving it in a gymkhana. Talk about withdrawals. And I had a 330ci to boot around too.
Needless to say yesterday was a funtastic day. But she's tucked in the garage again.

Absolutely, there will be other times! Don't fret, man, get your act together and then strike out with a new one. Good luck.

Coming from an 05 Evo VIII GSR, it's kinda a mixed bag. I really enjoy the way the car looks, the interior, and all that but I miss the old 276hp 4G63 and AWD. I definitely enjoy driving this car and really don't mind having to get the revs up to make power, but it obviously is a little different drive than a rally car on summer only Yokohoma Advans. The funny thing is the complements you get. On the Evo is was all guys in their 20s or so, asking me if it was a real evo or a lancer with a wing. Girls didn't get it at all. The red RX8 is sorta the opposite.
