Wrecked my car.

I wrecked my Mazda3 not my 8, thank god. A truck rear-ended my car doing about 90mph. I was cruising at 45 mph in the #1 lane and the other driver flew right into the back of me. I spun around in a 360 before I got her under control. Crushed my car from the bumper to the rear passenger door. The other car drove away from the scene. The cops were amazed that the passenger cabin wasn't crushed at all. I'll try to post picks tomorrow.

So, anyone know if the 6 disk changer from my 3 is compatible with my 8? Hehe.

Glad that you was not hurt at all. The cars are built great! How much damage was done to the rear. Mine is totaled.

What model was your 3, I or S? Hatchback or sedan? Was it loaded up (Nav and all that stuff)?
Paul.

I uploaded this picture. It was the 2.0 engine, I believe that is the i. It is a sedan and doesn't have nav.

Holy ****, I'm glad you didn't have little kids in the back. Any chance of getting the MF that ran off?

I have full coverage so I am not worried. I am really glad I didn't have any body back there. I found a piece of the truck that hit me. I crossed referenced the part number and it's an '98 to '03 Ford Ranger or Mazda BXXXX. The part that ripped off the other car is a radiator piece. The PD took some other parts with them so maybe they can figure it out. I drove around for about an hour last night and couldn't find the truck. Now that I know what model I am looking for I am going to drive around some more.

I'm very glad no one was hurt.

While the damage appears extensive, I'd have to say there is no way that the truck that struck the 3 was doing 90mph.

I feel the elderly along with large SUV and pick up drivers should under go a special drivers class be for they get there cars. Due to the large amount of elderly and SUV drivers the get killed or kill others every year in the stat I live in. And large SUV along with truck are known for the "eating effect" very dangerous. Glad your OK. I don't see how he or she could have got far in there vehicle.

You have to remember that I was going 45MPH when I was hit from behind. The other car was going fast enough to do all that damage. It was raining heavy so he was able to slide me forward. Had it not been raining it would have been much worse. He hit me so hard that my front dash cracked and the drivers seat is all busted up.

In a way, you should be glad the roads were slick - that is probably what saved the damage from being greater than it was (assuming, of course, that it didn't lead to the collision in the first place).

Glad everyone is ok.
