Wrecked RX-8, need help
#51
Yea I don't know if they plug and play.. I can't recall ever having to do it like that. But if they can't I'm sure it isn't a huge cost. It's still a helluva lot less than buying them from Mazda.

Your best bet is to find another wrecked car and pull the parts you need.
I found an '04 that had airbags blown and all... Luckily for me, the bodywork (bumper, hood, fender & lights) had already been done, and I grabbed the car for $6500

I found another wrecked car, and for around $850 I got needed items to repair the car. EVERYTHING plastic up front, ECU housing, battery box, engine cover, fuse box, etc. was still still cracked/broken. Both airbags had blown, airbag module, front impact sensor, hood prop, Plus a BUNCH of little misc items that helped me out. I took the car to Mazda to check the computer for airbag codes, and the seat belts were fine, side impacts were fine, etc. They even put in new plugs for a mandatory recall issue, with full knowledge of it being salvaged! (I can't get other warranty work, however)
Now, the car is perfectly fine after a full day's work & my girlfriend uses it for a daily driver.
For sure, I have less than $8K in the car. Even with a salvage title, we can still enjoy the hell out of it!
Find another car wrecked in the rear or something...
