YAY! 300 miles to a tank
woohoo! after almost 4000 miles on my new 8, im really noticing a difference in the gas milage (for the better)
when i started off i got 220 miles to a tank, and now im up to getting about 300 miles to a tank before i (really) need to refuel.
This is with about 10% "fun" driving, i.e. hard acceleration, and very light AC usage
I'm pretty happy with the gas milage now, i mean 300 per tank isnt terribly bad, its only 60miles less then my last car (98 Saturn SL1)

That is pretty phenomenal. Your rate of acceleration must be very light.
I am hitting 18.0-18.2 mpg pretty much dead nuts since I've got the car. That is with 100% A/C on, DSC/TSC always on, and very little highway. That usually amounts to 220-240 miles per tank for me. I am pretty happy with this as long as it stays consistent, since I like to drive briskly if you know what I mean...

Those of us living in densely populated urban areas get the curse of "oxygenated gasoline" - either 10% Ethanol Blend ("E10") or with 5% MTBE. Metropolitan Chicago (Cook, Lake, Will, McHenry, DuPage, DeKalb, Morris counties in IL plus Lake county in IN, and Kenosha county in WI) all get E10 as mandatory in the pumps, which costs us anywhere from 3-15% on the mileage. My experience is to the 15% "cost" side of that. That combined with my 95% urban driving leaves me getting 200-210 miles per tankful.

I really noticed a difference in MPG when I got a full tank of premium gas from Nevada. On this tank I went 295 miles on 13 gallons (~23 MPG) with 30% urban and 70% highway. Thats something like a 20% improvement in MPG.
Not all cars seem to be so impacted by reformulated fuels. I have not noticed any difference in MPG in our SUV.

The farthest I've pushed it was 303~4 miles... and the needle was far past the "E"... damn that was scary... fortunately found a chevron and was able to fill up with good clean detergent filled gas... yay

I never get less than 20 MPG, and usually get over 22 -23.

The best I get is about 21MPG on 100% Hwy drives...so theoretically I could get about 315miles...but That would be on fumes I really hate running out of gas in the middle of BF Nowhere ....most I ever got was 290 miles before I bailed into the nearest gas station
