Yay or Nay? this Dash kit on Ti Grey?

Should I do it? Has anyone here done it? I searched to try and get other pictures of other installs but all the threads were too old and the pictures were gone.

Is it brushed aluminum? I love that stuff. But not too sure if I like it on the 8.

I haven't done it but since I own a Ti grey I'll comment.

Firstly, although the look is nice I reckon the downsides are:

1. Glare from reflected sunlight;

2. Heat buildup and transfer;

3. Susceptible to scratching from rings, coins, etc;

3. Really shows up finger marks - ever seen those stainless steel fridges and dishwashers that are all the rage - always have finger marks, etc on them.

Depending on your climate and how happy you are about polishing the dash panels, I agree it would set the interior off nicely in a Ti grey. However, I like the piano black - quick wipe with a microfibre cloth while waiting at the lights and it looks like new.

Edit - and then there's weight.

Damnit, I knew there were downsides to this. I was actually trying to replace the piano black on my stereo faceplate because it has some nasty scratches.

I'd rather get the carbon fiber one. But that is just me.

i read through the thread before clicking your link. i was expecting not to like it, but i think it looks pretty sweet. i also have a titanium grey, and if i were replacing scratched surfaces in the black i would definitely consider this.

how much and where?

it looks a little to gaudy to me. Better than the fake wood look though.

Yay.

Where did you see this and how much are they asking?

I've been looking at the same one. I saw it on ebay for $300. It sounds a little pricey for what turns out to be just a stick-on kit. It doesn't actually replace the piano black pieces, it just sticks over them with 3m. At least that is what I read about it.

As far as the finger prints, I can't imagine it would be any worse than the piano black, especially on the door which is always covered in fingerprints.

Not bad - depends on the price I guess. If your piano black is noticeably scratched I could see it. IMO, it beat the hell out of carbon fiber.

Ooooh, I like that! What's the price on it? I prefer aluminum over CF interiors, looks more classy. CF = rice to me, on the interior anyway. But that just my opinion. I say go for it.

*EDIT*

Just saw the site, price $145. Not bad.

Personally, I don't care for it. It reminds me of pimp my ride. I like subtle accents, but it is mainly a personal preference.

If it's stick on, the NAY FOR THE LOVE OF GOD NAY!!!!!!

If you actually pull the parts and replace them (which i doubt for 145) then it's cool. But stick on looks disgusting in person. Ask me how i know.

ITs ok---its the best looking applique type of kit I've seen--I probably wouldn't use the entire kit though.
