Yellow Exclamation Mark on Rena's Dials...

I was taking Rena out for a cruise today, on the way to the hospital. For some odd reason, a yellow exclamation mark showed up on my dial and it started beeping for a bit. I thought maybe it was the oil, and checked it and filled it up to full. Still there.

I have no idea what this light means..., it was running fine before and after it appeared. I thought maybe it was DSC telling me it just saved my life (I was cornering at an intersection), but even with DSC off, its still there.

I called the dealer, and I'm bringing it in tomorrow. But before that, any ideas why?

Rena does. All it tells me is that Rena thinks there's something wrong.

Well, first thing you have to learn is that it DOESN'T mean Rena is "surprised".

! = TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System):
Warning light illminates for a few seconds when ignition is on. If tire pressure is too high or too low, or tire temperature is too high warning light will illuminate.

that what the tpms sensor light looks like. seriously. i got it once, and i pulled over immediately and whipped out the manual. checked the tires. my mechanic had inflated them to 50psi each1!! OMG

i let 10 psi out of each of them. should i let more out? the bumps dont really bother me. and i figure harder tires = better mpg.

read the label on the side of driver-side rear door; I believe 32psi all around is the recommended pressure.

That's the tire pressure monitor system. Put air in your tires, doofus.

The tires are the black dirty things around the round spinning shiny things at each corner of the car.

Tires seem fine. I thought about the tires too, and they don't look deflated. I'll check'em tomorrow.

^^ Oh I forgot you have magic air pressure vision super powers! Silly me. Most of use tire gauges.

Looking at the tire won't help anything, unless your tire is below 15 psi. Then you can tell it's low just by looking at it. Invest in a quality tire guage with a pressure release button. This will hold the pressure in the guage so that you can take it off the valve stem to get an easier reading. Then just press the button to reset it back to zero psi; which is probably close to what you are running ;-) PLEASE let us know the outcome.

It ain't like your old car's tires. You won't notice any difference in the lower profile tires. TPMS comes on when you dip below 24 or 25 psi.

What ever you're comfy with is cool. Just remember they'll go up a few psi once they're warmed up.

Alright, I'll go check the tire pressure later. I DON'T have a pressure gauge tho..., and I'm not sure where to obtain one.

I'll get it dealt with at the dealer today, but later on I'll get a pressure gauge.

No...?

I've seen the gauges, handled by my parents, and a few other people. This is my very first car, and honestly, I didn't give a damn about maintenance until now.

I also know pressure gauges are sold at gas stations in Malaysia. Haven't seem em here though.

Maybe you can get your parents to buy you a gauge, or just slap you hard enough to make you do it yourself....
