I still have the car, and I think I am pushing my luck. (It took me about 45 mins for the audiolink and about 30 mins for the plate)

By the way, I know guys that have a supercharger, headers, and 100 shot on their CTS-V. They are the ones who need a tire fund (and a differential fund also).

By the way this website rocks. Thanks to the reviews here, I settled on the audiolink, which is amazing, and the instructions on dash disassembly saved me mucho time.

Does this site take donations? I looked around and could not find anything. Or is supported by advertising alone?

You should think about checking out our local Chicago meets...there's a group of us that get together twice a month, last one was this past weekend for a track day at the Autobahn:

As long as you're a car enthusiast, we don't care which car you bring.

restraint?

Bought mine in January, had two wreckless tickets by May 5th. D'oh!

Good thing bro, mom and dad are all local attorney's at law.

I'm 25, and I never had a speeding ticket until I owned this car. That's a 2000 Si, 97 240 sr20, a turbo s12 200sx and an '03 WRX wagon. I love driving this thing.

3.5K? With the MT, you don't have to drive around at idle all the time.

I try to tell myself the reason I settled with an AT is so I could multi-task while driving, like drink something, maybe eat? Or write some things down, maybe even a little racing?! (on the track of course.)

But the thing is, the car means so much to me, I don't even do any of that because the drink might spill, the food leaves crumbs, and I don't want to get in a wreck...and the closest track is 30 minutes out of town, and I don't feel like driving all that way (with these gas prices) and paying 15 to get in.

So now I'm stuck wondering how long it will be til I can get myself a new one with the GT package and a manual tranny =(

I gotta tell you, I could not own this car. And mind you, I drive a CTS-V. I would get too many speeding tickets if I drove the 8 every day, or wind up breaking it. I dont recall driving another car that begged to be pushed to the limit like this car. Redline Rule? I think have taken it past 8500 almost everytime I accelerate. I sure do hear the shift buzzer alot. And I have been seeing the traction control light (or stability control?) alot too.

On all other Mazda's I think zoom-zoom is just a tagline. But on this Mazda, its a dead-nuts description. This car makes you drive it fast.
I have to disagree with you on the last sentence. Go to your local Mazdaspeed dealer and drive a Mazdaspeed3.... you'll most certainly have a **** eating grin on your face the whole drive. Turbo miatas are pretty sick too.
As far as pure Handling goes, I'd definitely agree with you about the Rx8, most neutral handling car I've driven in a long time and LOVES to be pushed hard

Being 1 point away from license suspension is the restraint for me. Only 14 more months to go.

Take your car to track days, that will get all the high speed runs out of your system. The downside is you'll become super-cocky about banked high speed cornering and treat every on and off-ramp like a mild corner.

The key to slow driving is to use the cruise control as much as possible. Set the speed and take your foot off the gas. Drive with the buttons. This will remove all your temptations to creep up in speed gradually.

That's exactly what I had to do with my Trans Am. I had too much of a led foot when driving it, ended up having to use cruise control =/

But since cruise control didn't start working until over 30 MPH I still tore of the residential streets!

Kidding of course!

I almost got a speeding ticket today on my way to work, there's an off ramp I take and the exit speed is 45, the speed on the highway is 60, but I do 70 and exit at 70 becuase no ones ever on the access road.

But today there was a dodge charger infront of me on the exit ramp, I had just caught up to him on the highway and he was taking the same way, all of a sudden he brakes to 45 as he's getting off and I'm like "FDSFSDGFJFHLKEHFW!!! YOU DON'T HAVE TO GO FOURTY FIVE!!$*(#)$*@()#$"

Then as I get further down I notice a motorcycle cop sitting off the side on the access road. Then I'm like...Wow...good looking out for me Mr. Charger

That's the third time I've seen a cop there since I've gotten this job, I think now I'm just going to start becoming a law abiding citizen once I get closer to work

Everytime I get in my car it's the same old song and dance...

ME: "Ok - no speeding today. Rev high, but slowly. Drag it out. Enjoy the moment. Keep it under 55."
CAR: "WTF IS THIS ****? HARDER, YOU *****!"
ME: "Yes ma'am."

But apparently RX-8s are allowed to go 70 in a 35 if it's engine management related (lol true story - made a post about that 2 weeks ago)

ET: Yeah, but we cant just keep doing this, its dangerous baby...
RX: You know how I like it...don't make me beg...you know you want it...
ET: No! Please! Don't! Stop!
RX: STFU AND THROTTLE THE CRAP OUTTA ME NOW!
ET: NO PLEASE DON'T STOP!
RX: Thats a good little slave...

I know the MS3 and MS6 for that matter are probably the best handling front drivers out there (I know the 6 is awd, but I am told it behaves like fwd). But they are still based on more pedestrian platforms; and thus dont have the level of responsiveness that comes with a dedicated sports car.

Guess it takes a while...after I got the midpipe she's alot easier to hear...before I had trouble making out what she was telling me...it was all muffled sounding...
