ill i want to say with this thread is if you have not drove a hi-power and are now scared off because these dyno results you must drive one and then you will know.i drag race around 10 times a year with a low 10 sec backhaved camaro and im not easily impressed with performance of every day cars.in the last 6 weeks i have drove a svt cobra, audi tt,rsx type s,mach1,and evo.i got to drive the rx8 last night and ill i can say is this car imo is hands down, no questions asked, clear cut winner by far.im NOT saying that this car is faster than the stangs or evo but in the relm of sportcars up to 40,000 this car is awsome.they say the rsx puts down these 180hp #S at its wheels but there is no way in hell that that car even comes close to this rx8.this is my opnion and myself was leary after reading all the negitivity on the low #S but after driving this car i plain dont care what these dynos say.the car is awsome and i will pick mine up the day it arrives and if mazda gives us back this 21hp or so thats great, but in my opnion its no reason to not buy the car.one more thought,21 or 25 hp in drag racing might get you a couple tenths, maybe?

My hopes are still high from all of these great reveiws, but if these hp numbers are true that is a huge disapointment. Its like being lied to basically. I am keeping an open mind until I get to drive the car myself. I am sure I will drive it, and love it, and take it home, but I don't know. By the way if you drag race 10 times a year you should know that 1 or 2 tenths means everything!!! That is the difference between a win and a loss. So 25 hp is a BIG difference if you intent is drag racing. Fortunately mine is not with this car. However I still want the extra 25 hp cause that is one of the features of the car according to mazda.

that is exactly my point,rx8 is not meant to drag race and i dont think most rx8 drivers will notice those couple of tenths.you just cant asume that the 8 is slow now from 3 dyno reports,i still think we need a rotary guru to perform the tests after atleast 5000 miles.
