Talking your gas mileage?

just curious what type of city gas miles are you clocking before you have to refill? it looks to me i get around 200-250 miles to the tank. my mustang does 150 miles to the tank. im trying to plot my trip to washington (state) from las vegas so im trying to see how often i will need to stop for gas.

on the freeway, cruising at 80 i went 290 miles before a fill up- took about 13.5 gallons so you could stretch it a bit more. 6 sp.

Depending on your driving habits, you can expect between 200-300 miles per tankful. 200-225 if you have a HEAVY foot and/or a lot of stop and go traffic. Closer to 250-275+ if you can run nonstop, and keep your foot off the floor!

Prior to getting flashed last week I had never seen 200 miles on one tank of gas. I was usually right around 180 miles when I had to fill up. After getting flashed I am getting 230 miles per tank. All city driving. No change in driving habits.

With mostly urban driving, at the 3/4 mark I usually have 200-230 miles, and that is when I start thinking about getting gas. That works out to 18-20 MPG.

Here is some highway testing at different speeds:

no difference after the L flash... still gettin 215-220 a tank... thats about 17mpg... was hoping it to increase to 19mpg or get a better feel with the butt dyno in mid-range power, neither has happened

i think i was just expecting too much after reading the discussion on the L/M flashes here...

I get 230 fairly consistently with 13 gallon fillups which works out to 17.7 or so. My daily drive is 12 miles each way. About 9 of those (one way) are on on the freeway at 80 mph (traffic permitting). Thats about 4250 rpm in 6th. I generally shift between 3500 and 5000 in stop and go. I'm also at 4300 feet if that is of any interest to you.

For reference, I get about 1.5 weeks of driving on a tank of gas. If I never drove anywhere but work I could probably stretch a tank over 2 weeks.

If I'm driving aggressively my milage varies wildly...

My trips have been getting better. I just drove a 210 mile stretch sunday with DSC off, cruise set at 73, and AC on. I got 24.78. I didnt empty the tank bc I filled up in SC for 1.55 while I could. Thats the best tank yet by 1mpg. 9850 miles, and original ECU version (August build).

Watch yourself in the canyon between Mesquite and St George Ut. That place is fun as hell to drive (it was actually featured in some sales literature the salesman gave me at the dealership) but its under construction right now. They have cops hiding in a few sneaky places. Also when you get to Salt Lake see if you have time for a drive up Big Cottonwood canyon. Its gorgeous this time of year.
