I am looking at either silver or grey. Im trying to decided if I should go touring or GT. I will have to go sit in a few and decided if it is worth the extra money. I dont think I am getting any other options other than the Ipod, they all seem to be visual add ons, not too much functional stuff.
Your at a good time, the 06 are being rebaited heavily, if you hold off till the start of the new year the deals will be even better. As for myself the GT is no big deal. I'm not a big fan of leather seats, hot and sticky in summer and cold in winter. The moon roof is very small to the point that you say why did they bother. Power seats are nice but how often do you really use them. I original was going to buy a Touring model but a different dealer offered me a better deal on a GT. The price was around $24.4 and $26.3K out the door for a GT with spoiler, I bought in Jan 06. So deals can be had and for this type of money you get a great car at a great price.

It is a very easy clutch. Jumping in it at zoom zoom live, I was able to get in and drive with out much though. Much easier than the speed6.

I can defeinitly hold out untill next year. Driving the contour into the sunset kind of thing. That will also give me time to get a nice big down payment to help knock down my monthly payments. And I should be getting my raise by then too .

I think that me an the author had the same experince, cept im not all butt hurt, sounds like they came in with a bad attitude, he just needs to get over it and enjoy the event.

1. the waiver, this seems pretty standard.
2. the quick movie, this is about mazda, of course they will try and sell you an image.
3. standing in lines, sucks, but you get to watch the other cars, talk to people, I had a good time in line too.
4. It is true about the ms3, where was it? you'd think that they'd have it there, thats why I want to go in the first place. Well since the car gods work in magical ways, im getting an rx8 now, buhahaha.

So colors, Clicking around on the site and looking at the rx8s on the road I am not considering the white, grey silver, and maybe the dark blue. How is the paint on the mazda's? I'm comming from looking a subarus with their crappy paint.

Concerning options, does the rear spoiler actully gain you any more noticeable downforce?

What about the spare tire? How prone are the rx8s to flats? I have only gotten a flat once in my life due to my own error.

get the stormy blue, it is my favorite color of all time, too bad they didn't have it back in '04

crappy subaru paint lol, you should be comfortable dealing w/ mazda paint then lmao

none of the spoilers (save for maybe the MS spoiler) will get you any aerodynamic gain except more drag, even at track speed

spare tire kit will render your trunk basically useless, buy at your own peril.

Its a shame that won't work with the Sat radio, they use the same connector.

Don't forget the ZZL discount.

Watch out for the silver curse.

You probably don't need seat warmers in the Bay Area.

The RX8 should drive better than the ones at ZZL.

Yeah I've got my discount zzl discout!

What is the silver curse??? I think I am looking towards the mica blue and the pearl white anyways.

I am still between the touring and the gt. i'll sit in the leather and see if it is worth the extra money.

Why will these drive better than the one at zzl with 1318 miles on it?

Do a search for the curse. Basically, seems like a tendency for the silvers to be involved in more accidents.

We have a 2004 RX-8 with about 20K on the odo. It drives a lot better than the cars at ZZL. Better grip on the tires, more taut suspension and steering. The cars at ZZL have taken a tour of the country and been very abused. You should notice the difference if you take a test drive in a 2007.

The cloth upholstry is fine, but tends to get a little warm if you spend a lot of seat time.

Also, you may want to search on some of the comments about local dealerships. Big difference in how they treat people.

Enjoy shopping.

A quick search in the california section ( your "local" sections seem very broad ) I didnt really turn up any dealers I should avoid like the plauge. I know with subarus to avoid stevens creek. I have been emailing with Kathi Greene with Almaden mazda. She has been helpfull so far.

You and others assume that oil consumption is bad because you come from the piston world.

Normally oil use means worn components in an engine.

In a rotory it is designed that way. Nothing is wrong, it's not burnining oil. It's consuming it to lubricate the Apex seals. Consumption varies depending on how you drive it.

Just think of a Harley that drops oil on a chain to lubricate it. Same principle.

And yes I have seen quite a few over 200,000 miles.

The rebuild is way cheaper than a piston and some where comparable to the price of rebuilt valves on a piston engine. Remember there are only a few moving parts.

Yeah, its not a hard concept to grasp, just hard to break the piston way of thinking. I will be reading the owners book several times to make sure I understand everything there is to know about these cars, along with how to not to flood the engine.

I live in the Bay Area and love those seat warmers. Once you get your buns warmed, you won't go back.

I was really thinking about it, I am in my car for atleast 2 hours a day, so I really want something that I can be comfortable in.

They are really nice on a colder day when you first get in and they warm quicker than the heater. Also the heating affects different areas than the blown heater air and seems to me feel better than that. Doesn't get stuffy either.
