This is good news to autocross b-stock guys. It would suck to have to upgrade to a 2007 if they squeezed out more torque or put in a better differential, but for everyone else this is lame.
I know this is heresy, but I wonder what the RX8 would feel like with the new 3.5 liter V6 or the turbocharged Mazdaspeed 4 cylinder. Of course, a turboed rotary would be cool, but I'm not holding my breath on that one.

i think the rx8 is well priced. after all, it is "5g less" if not more than the FD was over 10 years ago.

Mazda is really testing everybody's patience here. Let's hear it for another 1.5 years of waiting.... for nothing...

Why should current owners really care what happens with the new models? We've already got ours. The improvements won't magically appear on our cars; we'd have to shell out some big change to upgrade to a new model instead of just using that money for FI kits that could be just as effective, if not more.

Rootski is right. i am pretty sure that must of us bought the car because we liked the way it drives. if horsepower was a issue i am sure buyers would have bought some other car. A car that handles like crap.....i would not trade my car in just because some newer models received upgrades. i wouldn't mind a little more power just like the next guy but i will seek the aftermarket for that(of course when the warranty runs out).

Sounds pretty foolish to me.

i feel (my opinion) that if i want more hp , i can go Fi route. but since i really do not care about HP right now, since i want to finish suppension first before i want turbo kit or SC. as for face lift i can go buy a kit.
i know alot of ppl want rx8 to be competive in US. but US is not the only market whre RX8 is being sold. really if you think of how long the rx7 was in production for other nations. ONly ppl that are hurting rx8 is the ppl in US not knowing what a rotary is. and if they do start marketing the car alot. you think ppl will comfortable bying a car that they really dotn know about? every time ppl comment my car, first thing they ask is, is that V8 or a v6? when i tell them its rotary they become blanked face. so i really think trying to educating ppl who only know piston is going to be hard. Every where else rx8 is being sold pretty well, like UK, JA, AU etc.
any how amen rootski

Obviously you haven't been around turbo rotary enough to understand the worth of that security blanket. I'd much prefer a warranty'd turbo RX8 than a non warranty'd one.

not true at all- we knew anbout the MS6 and MS3 way before they were launched. a year at least

not to turn this into and evo vs 8 discussion of course, cause i like both cars, just saying the 8 is well priced.

I know where the Evo is going 2 years in advance. Same with the Supra. I even know what VW is going to be doing in the coupe world in 2 years. I have no idea what Mazda will have in terms of rotary power in the coming years.

saturn that means they are progressing forward and and close to the point of having all the decisions made and a protype testing and will probably show the prototype in the next year and then produce 6 months to a year later
