These are pictures of a base model 2009 mazda rx8. I couldnt get pictures of the interior or the engine (keys where locked up in the managers office). Radio is about the only thing different interior wise. Cloth was changed from the suede type material to the cloth they have in the new mazda 6. Enjoy. Car will be in orlando for about a week or so maybe i can get more pictures.

While you're at it, the plastic louvers in the oil cooler vents need to go too. I would have loved to have been at the design meeting when some guy stood up and said...
"Hey I know what's missing: Cheap black plastic! Nothing looks sportier or conveys a sense of quality and styling more than CHEAP BLACK PLASIC!"
I would have expressed to him just how wrong he is. By punching him...repeatedly...in the junk.

You are by far in the minority. I for one do not wish my sports car to in any way resemble the pile o' crap plasticy Escort that I drive in the winter (now). Matte black plastic is not meant to be a design element. No one would care if they would simply paint it gloss black or match it to the car's color.
A lot of people even have their rear diffuser painted because the plastic look annoys them. I will, at some point, probably have mine painted, because I agree - it looks like crap, and it fades. Mine has a grayish "wear" already (not all that visible until you're inches from it applying Zaino).

bump for more non-R3 2009 RX-8 pics:
Pics of the non-R3 RX-8, RHD and wrong color (Aurora Blue only avail. on R3), but it's exactly the same exterior wise as LHD:

So we're getting the 18" 40th anniversary wheels in silver on all models (no more 16"), and a lip spoiler standard on all MT models, and the Bose adds Centerpoint.

The RX-8 is one of those cars that doesn't photograph as well as it looks in person, but all I can say is, I'm glad I have a 2006. The grille opening has gone from too small to 'way too big, out of all proportion to the rest of the car.
