THIS one, would be a true torch carrier for the line IMO
However, neither of those would be. Red has way too much going on in the front and vents on the hood and all over the sides. Black looks too conservative on the front and just looks like a normal coupe. Both have lower fenders in the front and rear unlike the first picture which really stands those fenders out and IMO would keep the car design truly unique from other sports cars once again.

They should stick with the RX-7 moniker for the 2 seat rotary car. It reminds people of the FC, and FD in a good way. I also hope they offer a 2+2 awd rotary, and call it either RX-8 or RX-9. Living in NY, AWD fits my needs more in the winter. This last one was brutal. Point being, there is room to ****** buyers who admire STi, Evo performance, yet despise they teenager styling(like me). Just a thought.

Lol, unfortunately they are to cheap to pay the hot blondes to come here. More like the 60 year old man. what do you do? Maybe they will, maybe they won't. I'm happy with mine and its about to be paid off. So it really doesn't matter. Just thought I would share the info.

7 starts out at $27k (true flagship sportscar)
8/9 starts out at $32k (best handling GT performance car, period)
Figure 10-12k for each model built for the US market. Limiting the amount will help sustain the demand for both models, despite the total equaling the normal amount delegated for the current RX-8. There are plenty of RX-8 owners like myself who, with a new born baby, would find it hard to justify a 2 seat car at this stage in my life. Sure, I can get a beater AWD, but what's the need for the extra car when Mazda already created the need for me to purchase a 4 door 4 seat sports car in the RX-8. They can't just abandon that niche now. I figured, providing the 16X makes good torque, an AWD could take a hefty chunk out of the Evo/STi market, or the people who are on the fence about the Evo or STi because its not 'grown' enough for anyone older than 24-25. Not to mention, it removes the 2 models directly from competing with each other, clearly as you're not an AWD person. I mean ****, it makes a hell of a lot more sense than offering 25-30k of one model every year, and watching the demand nose dive mid life in the cycle. It also keeps the 7 and 8 dudes happy.

I'm sorry, but I just don't believe the current RX-8 will be offerred in 2011. Look at the sales figures which are at this site. Mazda sold less than 80 RX-8s nationwide in Feb and that is with the $5,000 rebate for '09s. In March, that rebate has been increased to $5,500 for '09s. I don't think you will see either rebates this size or rebates this this going on so long for the 2010's only because I think Mazda didn't bring as many RX-8s into the country this year. But the handwriting is on the wall: the current model is toast unless they do something drastic like adding FI. The car just isn't selling

The new 'green' Porsche 918 Concept uses an AWD concept where the 500hp gasoline combustion engine powers the rear wheels. The 218hp electric motor powers the the front wheels, an a static power distribution to the wheels. The setup yields staggering power in addition to Prius like gas mileage. Mazda could adopt the philosophy for the this 'pking1122 speculative RX model' on a much smaller scale, and improve mileage on the ultra light 2 seater RX-7. Figure 28/32 mpg. That would probably drive the cost though.

an AWD Coupe would be nice. Could help bring Mazda upmarket and compete with Audi TT, and yet, still offering a RWD Lighter version will continue Mazda' sporty RX7 Legacy stepping its game up to the 370z.
Keeping the RX8's four seat sports car design, and adding an optional AWD will set it right in line with the G37, where it needs to be.
Only two companies I believe in are Mazda and Nissan, they understand Balance quite well.

If it makes you guys feel any better, despite that DBS-RX9 photoshop looking good as hell, there's no way in hell it would have been sub 3000lbs. I hope Mazda adopts that face and not give it the happy go lucky Mazda3 grill

The future of all Rx cars lies in the development in the 16x not the body style (although I would love the red one and one definitely buy it). Pking1122 has the right idea with a hybrid drive train. All future cars, sports, eco, even trucks are going to have a hybrid drive train. At this it makes sense for power and MPG's especially for a rotary because it would help in all the areas we would need and put it right back in the competition with so many other brands.
