It's pretty lame that they posted an RX-Evolv picture instead of a real RX-8 in the article though.
What's up with that? This car has been out for over a year, and they still couldn't find a picture. Haha!

The pic I saw in the USA Today article had a picture of an actual RX-8, not the Evolv.

The Rx-8 is pictured on the front page, but the Evolv was pictured on another page- same issue of the paper. I don't have it handy, but it is like back in the B section..

Note that the RX-8 gets four and five stars across the board, and has a Static Stability Factor of 1.59, which indicates it is very unlikely to roll over. Most passengers cars rate between 1.30 and 1.50 (the higher the number, the less likely the car is to roll).

No rear-impact crash data is listed, but the fact that I'm here typing this is pretty good indication that the car deserves 4-5 stars there as well.

Edit: Aaack... I just noticed that they list the car as wrong-wheel-drive! I emailed them and asked them to fix that.
you have to wonder about the validity of their data if they can't even get some of the basic specs right

All the cars tested under the same conditions. Regardless of whether or not those conditions are representative of the real world is irrelevant. They are merely reporting that under the controlled conditions, the results are what the results are. Good on the 8.
I'm just stating the obvious.

My coworker said he saw the RX8 rollover test shown on TV on a news channel. I'd love to get a hold of that clip but I doubt anybody would be recording TV news...
