Great scans. Thanks for the article! Wheels is pretty honest with the RX-8's shortcomings, but I don't agree with their comment on electronics getting in the way. They should've turned off DSC completely when reviewing the performance aspect of the car.

My eyes hurt after trying to read that. It looks like they gave the edge to the EVO VIII, but rated both the RX-8 and the EVO at 4.5 stars, with the HSV bringing up the tail at 3.5 stars. Or was it 5 stars for the RX-8 & EVO? Hard to see the print.

After ALL this complaint... I have enhanced it.
I don't think they lean towards the EVO - as they said the car is great performer but no cruise control and a tall 5th can not be well received in Australia.
Handling still RX-8 have a upper hand.
Can't wait to drive it though.

I just read how many stars each car received, and the criticism. Apparently, the RX-8 and the EVO 8 tied, and the Holden took a distant third. IMO, if Wheels tested an EVO MR instead of the regular EVO, maybe it would've earned that extra 1/2 star .

I'm actually a big fan of the EVO, but I would never buy one. I love its big *** rear wing and that's the only way I would want one. However, I couldn't deal with all the "boy racer/ricer" grief I'd get over driving a car like that - especially with the rear wing. (It's bad enough being near middle aged and driving a yellow car.)

I love EVO and dreamt for one when I was in Medicial school. With the influence when I am actually out of med school. I don't have money to get one and got the Integra R.
When I am able to buy one now, after getting married, and expecting our first baby. I need something more classy Hard to be a riceboy with a baby seat at the back

Sometimes, I just think that non-US car mags have better flair at describing things and are more entertaining to read: :D
"RX-8 has it for colour, although wallflower types may despise its dominatrix-inspired read leather trim"
"Evo's chunky padded door inserts partly alleviate the stock Lancer's cloth-over-plastic poverty"

"The turbo wihistles enticingly in your ears, and the seat massages your shoulders and pats you on the botty. To be honest, it gets tiring after a couple of hours. Like sex after a couple of hours."
