If they ever decide to build a rotary-powered Miata variant, I'm there!
Count me in too! I really wanted a 4-seat convertible, but nothing satisfied my taste, so I opted for the RX-8 with the moonroof.

I think the superior handling will more than make up for the metal roof above.

I love this quote;

The RX-8 is not all about Horse POwer. If your focus is strictly on that number, stick with the Z.
So true. If you want a cramped, rough-riding and weird-looking coupe with just enough room for you and your *****, by all means, head down to the Nissan store.

The M3 has 100bhp over the RX-8 , and in UK the convertable is almost twice the price of the 8.

No way is the RX-8 gona keep up with 340+bhp and 365 @ 4900 torque. 5.9 to 60 fcor the Hi-power sounds like towards the top end of the 8's performance.

Except for the weird-looking part, that sounds an awful like a 3rd gen Rx-7.

Have you ever heard of the S2000, the sport car roadster that weighs 2800lbs?

the s2000 is a roadster
the fact that it is "sporty" has nothing to do with it at all, roadster has to do with design, not perfomance

I doubt the 0-60 will improve much or any at all. However I do think that the 0-100 and 0-130mph times that car and driver got will improve.
