Not tracking on the MS version. Saving weight with the rims then adding it back with appearance items seems counterproductive.

Great video. I wish they had done a direct stock vs. MS comparison to see how much the MS improves upon greatness.

It's not the appearance but the aerodynamics they're after. That's why all the RX-8's that race use body kits.

From what I understand it takes a lot of speed to take aerodynamics into consideration for body kits. At lower speeds shaving off weight is more noticeable. I took out the spare, flat kit, jack, emptied the washer fluid, and removed the engine cover. It's only about 50lbs but I can sure feel the difference. The rims and a couple of more things would put me at 100lbs which I believe would feel like 10 hp.

True. Aerodynamics doesn't start being an issue 'til 60-70 mph, then moreso as speed increases. I plan to (eventually) get a body kit for track, to get better downforce in some of the higher speed sections.

But Unsprung weight is MORE important, IMO...pays greater dividends. I'd rather have a 10lbs redux per wheel/tire weight than 80lbs gone from the interior.

they mention in the video that the car is equipped with coilovers, but im guessing they are talking about the struts/spring combo, not the adjustable coilover right??
