^ agreed ASH8, let's hope the non-jp versions have a much cleaner, less tacked on parts external appearance. There's too much going on plastic wize on this vehicle and I agree it's for some reason more Mazda 'sedan' looking. It's getting 'blended' to the corporate Mazda look unfortunately.

I also thought of another item that you can't find through pictures. Mazda's overall scheme are lighter more efficient cars. I wonder if our Rx8 has gone on a diet and mazda has trimmed some pounds off the car. That would be interesting to find out

I like the regular one better, the mazdaspeed is a bit over the top.

Those are kilometers.

As for the facelift: like others mentioned, it somehow makes the car look more sedan-like. That's definitely not a good thing IMO. Someone mentioned Impreza... I agree.

There are only a few minor things I like - the seats and maybe the taillights. The rest is either meh or downright ugly. I'm happy to have the older version and would never swap it for this new one.

That MS one has Sparcos. Doesn't seem they'd use two manufacturers. Big calipers though!

Well, the seats look lighter, but being this a facelift, I doubt that the total weight can be much different.

On the other hand, I'd wait before ruling out the chance of more power. It was mentioned here a few days ago that there could have been some "cleanup" on the engine castings; also, imagine if there's an improved stock ignition system and a new flash. A couple tens more hp could be possible.

About the Mazdaspeed version don't forget, it's a concept car like the others Mazda 3, 2, MX-5. That's reason why we have the same spirit.

I want the new taillights! I hope they can fit the the current version. I hope we get the auto climate control like the rest of us. The new steering wheel matches the rest of the Mazda family and the updated dash is okay too. The exterior changes are ok, but don't really like the new side vents. They look Ford Focus--and that's bad.
