Seeing the real life pictures the normal "RS" version is rubbing off on me, but overall the headlights still look like they where taken out of a sedan parts bin. That and the Chrome oi.. I was sooo hoping they'd be some small LED's ala Audi.. bah oh well lol

R Magic,

Did the motor have 13B written on the rotor housing?

Seal.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rx8

So apparently according to wikipedia (which we all know isn't as accurate as everyone would hope) the 'facelifted' rx8 is 350 LB lighter and has 25 more hp

And I quote:
"The Second Generation of RX8, the RS, Debuted at the 2008 Detroit Motor Show, with Production Model Year starting in 2009, the RS features a Redesigned Front Fascia, Led Taillights, Refreshed Interior, Different Stock Wheels and Recaro Seats, with a Performance Boost of 25HP and a weight Reduction of 350 Lbs, and a variable Red Line, Mazda Also listened to Customer Complaints of the placement of the Oil Dipstick"

I love the rear bumper and I love the interior...I can't say I'm fond of the new tail lights or front end. But I REALLY like the interior damn!

some people from here will be sitting in it on the openign day so .....

is the shoulder crease from the top of the fender vent completely gone in the new car?

or just less defined without the horizontal cut line from the bumper and the redesigned vent?

fender vents are this decade's equivalent of a vinyl roof or fins in the back-- ani nstantly dated-looking exterior feature...

Although I will say that I like everything else they've done to the car for the most part

fender vents are important for cooling purposes. 911, M-cars, AMGs, EVO, STi etc has 'em.
I think you meant are pop-up lights. Now those are really dated feature.

I'm calling bc (bullcrap). -350 lbs, that's a real feel of 30+ hp alone.

yea taking away 350lbs isnt easy...

but lets say they are off by 50% on both figures thats still about 10-15hp more and minus 150ish pounds...that would still be great when u think about it..

lets just hope they are spot on...

It'll be real ******* funny, and shitty at the same time, if all the new MazdaSpeed RX-8 is, is a RX-8 with all the current MazdaSpeed parts thrown in. That'll suck.

CMON~ TURBO! Don't make RX-8 owners go to Pettit Racing or Esmeril for their turbo needs again! GIVE US SOMETHING ON WARRANTY! Promise we won't boost till we pop an apex seal. Promise!

I don't like the hump in the new headlights. Our current gen is smooth up to the qtr panel. Check out the left headlight in this photo. I also mentioned awhile back of the new trunk spoiler. Did anyone see it? The top has been flattend a bit. I actually like the padded door arm rests.

Press Release

http://www.prnewswire.com/cgi-bin/st...4735340&EDATE=

... In addition, the differential gear ratio on manual
transmission-equipped cars is lowered from 4.444 to 4.777 for improved
off-the-line performance. While minimal, these performance changes give
RX-8 increased acceleration and performance, as well as even greater
responsiveness to the accelerator pedal ...

Sorry if this is a repost.
