I didnt noticeany understeer really. Potholes bumpsand going from one surface of theroad to another would feel three times worse than they usedto. Like I said in the otherpost it felt like I was driving w/a suspension from any other regular rough sports car. I bet they also put too much air inthe rear tires too but those were a lot closer to 32 than the front tires were. I bet my front tires lost a little life thoughsince I was driving like this for over a week and a half!

zThang.... it is my opinion but alot of my friends that have G35's ... supra .. IS300... etc... all of them said 350Z is this and that (never even driven the car)... and when i drove it... it really wasn't ... i was deciding whether in a 350Z or RX-8 (1 month ago...) RX-8 was it... after driving both of them 350Z is one hell of torque monster... but when overall fun factor ... isn't all about speed... its about handling... how easy the car is too drive... the Z wasnt as fun as teh 8. faster but not funner... its a good sports car and all but its overrated...


im getting the car in 5-6 months ... RX8 fo Sho... saving up some money... for some aftermarket tweaks when i get it...

I'll say it again-
If straight line performance is -ALL- that counts,
the Dodge Neon SRT4 will blow the doors off the '8 AND the 350Z.

But it isn't.

BUT sportscars need to be quick; Fiero anyone?

I enjoy seeing performance cars period. When people need to start bashing, it says you can't accept the fact that other cars are more capable than yours.

I would have considered an RX8 IF the fuel economy had been better. The fact that it seats four is nice, but if the fuel economy is bad, there better be a good reason (like lots of power).

yea but if you have the money to buy the car then you should have the money to buy the gas...i dont even mind the gas issue...i give my baby what ever she wants

Sports cars mean different things to different people. To most 8 owners, speed is secondary to handling on the car. And really, the gas mileage thing doesn't hold water, because 1)it gets pretty close to many other sports cars 2)you don't buy sports cars for gas mileage and 3)if you can afford a $30k car, you can afford an extra $200-300 a year for gas.

Miata anyone? Nowhere near as quick as an RX-8 or 350Z; but if anyone claims that a Miata isn't a sports car, then they've either never driven one or have the term 'sports car' confused with 'muscle car'. A sports car CAN certainly be quick, but it doesn't have to be. (PS - the big knock against the Fiero was that it was overweight and didn't handle worth a damn until the final year of production, 1988. With the V6, it was reasonably quick - it was the handling that was the big letdown).

For more examples, look at most of the traditional 'sports cars' - Alfa Spiders, Fiat Spyders, MG TC, TD, TF, MGA, MGB, Midget, Triumph Spitfire, TR2, TR3, TR4, TR6, Porsche 356, etc., etc. - in all cases, those were barely quicker than your average family sedan (especially in the US), the 'sports' came from the small size, light weight, much better responsiveness and nimble handling. Look at other inexpensive sports cars still on sale elsewhere in the world - MGF/TF, Fiat Barchetta, Toyota MR2 Spyder - not especially quick, but still sports cars.

Sure, there were much more expensive sports cars that were faster (Jaguar, Aston Martin, Ferrari, Maserati, etc), but those were the exceptions, not the rule.
