Thumbs up I Gave RX-8 positive marks on a C.R. survey.

I just completed a Consumer Reports Questionnaire and I gave the RX-8 high marks all around. I kinda hope anyone else with an 8 that took it are owners without major problems. It would be nice to have the results show plenty of red it the car's section. However, I don't believe I'm a typical RX_8 owner so the published results could be anywhere on the chart.

I'm a subscriber, and I did the same thing—haven't had a single problem. (But if I had, I would have responded accordingly.)

I did the same. My gut feel is that the engine and electrical issues they show as worse than average are people not reading the manual and flooding the car. My guess the brake issue is the squeaky brakes. Not worth marking down as a serious problem, but apparently some people are doing it. I think there is one other issue that was complained about, but i can't remember what it was.

Everyone should give accurate marks, regardless of whether they love their car or not. People who are considering purchasing a car rely on it to give them a rough idea of expected reliability. I hope owners with & without issues responded, so we get an accurate look. CR loves the RX-8, it received a very high overall rating. It's only not recommended due to reliability issues, as reported by RX-8 owners.

I've had no problems so far and the recalls headed off the known potential ones so I had nothing bad to say about mine. I certainly want the survey results to be accurate.

I agree i want it to be accurate. I haven't had any serious problems with mine (knocking on wood). But as I said my gut feel is that the things that it is getting bad reliability ratings for are largely owners who haven't read their manuals.
