Jan 17 issue Autoweek article -long-term test

Preferred over the Z for day-to-day use. Other than gas mileage/oil usage they have little complaints. My scanner is down so I can't provide the full-page text.
They also want to hear owner's opinions on the cars for publishing. Someone represent the RX8club at autofile@crain.com.

January 17th issue, page 16.

And they've noted our complaints while re-iterating their desire for more torque - saying something along the lines of understanding that the small/light engine (don't remember the exact words - read it last night) makes for good balance, but they would still like to try the car with a V6. If you think about it, that's pretty illogical ... but they love to drive the car and pick it over the Z in spite of their complaints.

Just got me A/W today. I can't believe their test vehicle has used 8 qts of oil in just over 18K miles. Although mine only has several K miles, I've only added 1/2 qt.

If they are really pushing the car (as they do in tests) it will use more oil for sure.

Not only were they wishing for more power, particularly low end grunt but they said it really had to be worked for. They also cited the oil consumption issue and the issue which I keep saying that will be the biggest gripe in the long run, the fuel consumption.
