I hope its a brand new RX-8. I don't want it to just be a better version of my car... It'd hurt my morale. LOL.

'Heavily revised RX8' = more than just additional colours and cosmestic changes?

The better do something to the rotary engine.

I hope! And i'm preparing the cheque book already.

1 more month!!! Excited to see the new 8.

Ya know, who cares?!?!

Getting real tired of Mazda comming out with concept after concept and doing absolutely nothing with them.

ford concept - Mustang. Came out in 05 with it
chevy concept - camero - comes out next year
dodge concept - charger - comes out next year
toyota - matrix - 2009

mazda concept - Senku, nagare, taiki, kabura, ryuga - absolutely nothing

anyone can make a shell and say its a concept, but do something with all these things already.

/end rant

This is not a next generation RX-8. It is a facelift of the current car. Different front end and other changes such as updated oil metering system. Traditionally Mazda has facelifted each rotary car for the last 2 years of their life. This should be no different. Don't expect to see a next generation, if at all, for at least another 2-3 years.

Apostle you left out the Sassou and Hakaze. That makes 8 fake cars. Meanwhile they upgrade the 8 like a Russian Soyuz rocket.

i love the concepts- you have to always be looking down the road to where you want your company to be. they have found that direction thru this process and are starting to implement the design changes.

the head of design says these new design themes will make it to production starting with the 2009 mazda3. think of that. these next couple of cars- facelift rx-8 and new mazda6- are the END of this styling cycle. a new era is just aroudn the corner.

Do you have anymore info on this? I still wonder why a car like 8 should miss this. I don't mind the dipstick, but RX8 could have a better reputation and those people that don't care checking the oil may avoid harming their motors.

gawd i hate leaving early and missing these things. so this is what jim had on the dyno with the motec guy?

no power? they are sayign 450 on ethanol. that seems like enough

and let them all hope and fantasize- its better than the hate and discontent from the likes of user24 - always disappointed

This car laps around the track faster than a F430 challenge. haha, well before all the weight put on by the new body, etc.

I'd have to agree with RG the 3 rotar is just a promo machine. The revised 8 will have a new front end and some cosmetic tweaks to the interior/exterior. That is all fine and dandy but what people want is a more powerful or lighter RX8. Even after 4 years the RX8 is still an attractive car. design can always be improved but the only thing that needs improvemnet on the 8 is what is under the hood.

While I'll be curious to see the redesign I won't expect it to increase sales much if at all.
