See like I said... that Copper Red Mica is really nice. That pic doesn't do it justice. The intereior... NG. Sand? That's more like off-white... I mean it's REALLY light-colored. The Alcantara looks ok, but it looked worse for the wear on day 2 for the public of the Tokyo Motorshow. THis s fine for a weekend car with no kids. Otherwise... sorry Mazda, but I recommend skipping this model.

They will only make 100 so those 8's will be very rare.

I would guess you guys in the US will also have a limited number (say 1000) Shinka II's next year as a MY2007, or could that be MY2008?
Check out the price we are paying here (AU OZ) for it $64K!!, expensive bloody watch!
This car should be $49k MAX....
Good on you Mazda Australia..
I could fly to Japan, buy one for $33k(AU), ship it ($5k), tax/customs ($10K), and still be in front...only thing is it would not comply with ADR (Australian Design Rules), and I might have a problem with new car warranty, then there is the new parts problem...BUGGA! BUGGA!! BUGGA!!!

I really like the new red color but I'm still waiting for the HP upgrade. New colors and options changes don't do much for me really. It's nice...not exciting.

where the heck is the stripped down, just performance model? C'mon...I want some stiff suspension, a clutch LSD, throatier exhaust, more power(no really a must, lighten the damn car), stiffer clutch, light flywheel. Delete a bunch of other useless luxo crap, and it could be about the same price as a Sport packaged RX8.
I'd buy it!!
I had a sport packaged RX8 and it was too soft and luxo for me.

Mazda--I understand that you may be somewhat limited on what improvements you can do to the engine. The EPA makes it tough, engine changes are expensive and require driveline changes to cope with more HP, etc. So I understand if you're not offering a higher HP option.
But why are you offering this fluff, when you don't have an optional handling package? Springs, shocks, sways, maybe even a better set of tires. You already make the parts, and they can't cost hardly any more than existing parts--you'd just substitute slightly thicker spring coils and sways mostly. It would be almost pure profit for you, and customers wouldn't have to buy the MS suspension parts and wastefully throw away the stock parts, or pay for installation.

^ I think the company is ran by a bunch of normal people, and not car people. It's the kind of people that want cool desktop wallpaper for their computer and not a faster system with better applications.
Seriously, the Rotary Puerto Ricans needs to get in touch with the Engineers at Mazda and create their own company. Mazda's beginning to look like a Poser company for me now.
