Mazdasport magazine inside info...
Just recieved my latest copy of Mazdasport magazine from Mazda. Now i don't know if this is old info, speculation , etc. But there was a article about future vehicles......it said this in so many words, i will bring the article to be scanned in tomorrow.
1. RX-3 will be introduced, as a "sports coupe" without a rotary possibly 08/09 MY.-Isn't that what makes the RX-3 so special , the rotary?????
2. RX-7 has been on the drawing board for 7 years, ready to be produced but no funding to build it just yet.-bummer
3.There still talking about a MS RX-8 in 08 with more output.Mazdaspeed trying to work out the kinks in the emission department. No talks about a turbo, but numbers could be around the 300 mark? -We shall see......
4. There still talking late 06 that the RX-8 will have a refresh, new front end and interior, also said the RX-8 will get a tad bit more power and slightly better fuel econemy. - This is somewhat true, for '06 we have new colors, new interiors colors,A/T got a bump in HP.......still awaiting for that front end refresh.
So after reading this, looks like Mazda will continue to build the RX-8 for a little while longer.

RX-3 is belived to possibly by the Kabura (sp?) Now if only Mazda would stop messing around and put a Rotary in it...that thing would ROCK.
Like most magazines, this sounds like a lot of speculation but I'm still excited to hear it. Might have to check out the magazine.

IMO it sounds like the Kabura might be the RX-3 as well. The first thing that gave it away was reading this article, it mentioned this vehicle was going to recieve a rotary, then at the last minute they decided to provide the power with a piston engine. Which was also noted in other magazines as well that had the Kabura featured.
Even if this magazine is mostly speculations, some of its material has transpired already a.k.a 2006 RX-8. Only thing missing from the refresh is the redesigned front end.
I thought what was really intresting and i never read in any magazine was the info on the next RX-7. Basically that its design is done, but no funding to make it a reality.
I bring in the magazine to be scanned in tomorrow, the dealership automatically signed me up when i bought my 8 in January.

Hey DailyDriver2k5...
I just saw this magazine at Hastings last night but it was sealed up. A clerk was rearanging the Playboys behind me so I didn't rip it open. Is it worth buying? Any good articles in it?

Otherwise, don't bother picking it up. Or reading this board, for that matter.
BTW--where's my copy? I'm a subscriber, but haven't seen one in months.

hmm seems like ive heard all that before--- oh thats right ive been typing most of it for months and months. Rotarynews.com broke the story of the Kabura having the rotary dropped at the last minute before the show. I named the car MX-3 back in October etc etc.
The Magazine in question does not come from Mazda but Mazda helps market it by having them send an issue to new owners (funny tho - i never got one. maybe its only "participating dealers"). It used to be Miata magazine etc etc.

all of this has beeng said here in this forum some time ago, the rx-7 was done in 2004 but it dit not get the green light it is siting in japan, the rx-8 its a succes for mazda and theres people working on the next GEN rx-8, so it will firts get a refresh and for the final year of this GEN it will get a mazdaspeed version.
the latest info I got of the mazdaspeed rx-8 its that it is going to be NA with a 20 to 23% increase in power, what I have heard its that it is not a larger engine and no FI, how they got this power? I dont know, maybe direct inyeccion and higer compression?
my source has not yet let me down, but things change a lot before a car its produce.

The Chicago Auto Show had only '05 RX-8's. I'd like to see some of the new colors.
