MazdaUSA.com updated

All,

I apologize if this has been posted, but MazdaUSA.com has been updated to now have the full 2009 RX-8 information. It's not in upcoming models anymore. So, when you click on RX-8 in the left menu, you get all 2009 info, features, pictures, colors, builds, etc. Also, inventory search even reveals 1 2009 in my area..

They haven't updated accessories/mazdaspeed sections yet. Only '08 models show so far. Curious as to what they'll offer, what prices, and whether or not the MS kit will work on earlier models.

EDIT: When did they update the owners section? It's changed. Looks better IMHO.

The MS front can not work on the front, seeing that the headlights have a different shape. The rear won't work either due to the different shapes. The sides and the wing are probably OK.

Is it my imagination, or does even the vehicle builder not show the bumper for the R3. It is supposed to be different, right? The description of the R3 even specifies "sporty front bumper."

Shouldn't the bumper be sporty on every trim of a sports car?

Whenever they slap flat black plastic on the inferior trims you know they're cheapin' out.

Remember the original Neons that had flat black bumpers. Only the high-end models (at least for the Dodges) had body-color bumpers! :D

Did the car totally lose the moonroof for the '09s? Can you even get it?

In dash touch screen:

" NAVIGATION SYSTEM
$2,000"

"NAVIGATION SYSTEM
Easily operated, the system directs you by voice and pop-up screen to an entered address or the nearest gas station, ATM machine, restaurant, hospital etc"

I was hoping for some sort of appearance package like the 04-08 RX8's. The RX8 (doesn't matter if it's the 04-08 or the 09+) looks unfinished without some sort of lip and side skirt... Like an alien spaceship.

right, but I thought the in dash LCD was something that was displayed in the Mazdaspeed concept RX8 only.. didn't think it was a standard option for the 09s...

Cool to see it updated, we should see them throughout the dealers soon I'd think then.
Wow, those R3 wheels are expensive!

Mazda is still kind of BLAH with the color palette for this car.

Are you sure the headlights have different shapes? I know they're different lights as the 09's have the different corners and fogs but I thought the actual shape and fitment of the headlight was the same? I just looked at the pics on mazdausa vs. my car and I'm not sure that the shape has changed. But I'm probably just wrong.

It looks like they just have front aero flares around the bumper when you click the graphics. Not a full bumper. The sides just look like they add a stripe down the middle and not any actual flares or anything. Pretty odd.

Wow. Ummm... Don't buy the R3. Or if you do don't ever park it anywhere but in a fenced in convent. Otherwise I guarantee you'll walk out one night and find your car on blocks.

No effing way they're 2k a pop. That's a set of very nice used Ray Volks there. For a freakin' wheel. 8k for a set? No effing way. Hell that's a winter beater SUV you can get instead of a single, decent but not exceptional, wheel.

Does anyone think there's anything about the 09 MS spoiler different than the current MS spoiler? Looks the same to me. Be nice if they would have just offered a Mazdaspeed variant of the 09. Better than this R3 concept.

Not only are the headlights different, but they also deleted the corner lights from the '09, so that's another reason the MS front won't work on the new cars.
To see how different the headlights are, just put two photos next to each other - you'll see. It is clearly a different shape.

Now I wanna know how much do those Recaro seat cost

I wonder if we can just *direct drop* them into our 8 without any Airbag warning.

and 2000 bux for each wheel ? add a little more I can get a Wed's Carbon Fiber Wheel for that price.

I doubt the R3 have "aero flares around the bumper". If it was an add, you would see the lines where the add-on would meet the bumper.

Probably leaves more room for expansion in the future?
